Michael Sams Rams jersey is flying off the shelves at NFLShop.com, with the No. 249th pick out-selling the drafts top overall pick.
The jersey is the second best-seller among players drafted over the weekend, trailing only Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel, who got a two-day head start on the former SEC co-defensive player of the year. Sam, who became the first openly-gay player selected in the NFL draft...

Don’t Sam me bro!!!
Sexual deviancy is the “next big thing” in this country. Being an “openly gay” homosexual is really popular. I guess now we know why the Rams chose him. Money.
Turn burglars and the guilted running out to show support. By the end of the next season he’ll be largely forgotten.
So if the jersey is second to Jonny Manziel’s, then it’s hardly an “unprecedented” rate.
Yep. Although a lot of the purchases may be homo-politics.
How did we go from “the love that dare not speak its name” to “the love that will not shut the bleep up?”
Maybe unprecedented for a 7th round pick?
I can’t wait to be seen at the mall wearing one! /S
San Fran should start their own NFL team.... The San Francisco UNICORNS...
Well, it's unprecedented when compared with the jersey sales figures for every other NFL player who was drafted because he was openly homosexual.
Indeed they do. I still want proof on this article. I simply don’t believe it.
Every lib female will get one for her husband or boyfriend expecting that he will be thrilled to support the fight for social justice. They will be surprised. And imagine these same mothers getting one for their teenage sons thinking he’ll love wearing a jersey that will get him a lot of catcalls and laughs.
Interesting since Sams hasn’t even been assigned a number yet. The 52 he wore at Mizzou is already in use by another Rams player.
They’re going to feel real stupid when he gets cut and goes to another team.
The chances of him making the NFL are slightly higher than yours and mine. Only slightly.
BUT - I will give him this. He's smart. There wouldn't be 1/10th the buzz around him, if he'd kept his mouth shut. And - when he falls on his face (as is most probable) it won't be due to a lack of skills. It will be because of "homophobia" or some such nonsense, so he'll be able to save face, professionally.
