Sterling blasts Magic, calls Anderson Cooper racist
Fox ^ | 5-13-14 | Nick Creegan

Posted on 05/13/2014 5:21:37 PM PDT by Oliviaforever

Donald Sterling finally spoke to a national audience regarding his racist comments that were leaked in April. In the interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper, Sterling apologized for his comments, slammed Magic Johnson and other wealthy African Americans for not doing enough to help minorities, and even insinuated that Cooper is more of a racist than he is.

He is worth $1.9B and is 81 years old. If that’s not a formula for not giving a damn anymore, I don’t know what is.

And as far as no lawyer wanting to touch his case, give me a break. If OJ could get representation, surely Sterling can. It’s not like his massive checks will bounce or anything.

I haven’t really followed this Donald Sterling story (except how can you miss it) but it seems like in the “racial climate” of today he can do nothing right (no matter what he says or does)and Obama can do nothing wrong (no matter what he says or does).

As I read these comments, I wonder if Sterling is in on the Big Joke to provide fodder to the Media Morons who would rather cover this non-story than do their real job covering the myriad crimes Obama/Soeotoro’s Government is committing in our Names.

The hypocrisy of Johnson, Jordan, ass kisser Silver and the rest of the NBA is overwhelming

A racist rant secretly baited and recorded in private, and these choirboys chipping in with condemnation

Just curious how many people Johnson infected with HIV and the number of times he and Jordan cheated on their wives.

Oh yeah then there’s that little issue of all those illegitimate kids.

I bet the rate of STDs in the NBA is staggering.

Of course you are right on. Just that some of the general public need it repeated, to get it into their politically correct addled heads. As stated in Orwell's 1984 tis' is the final and absolute defeat of a human being. It is not in front of a firing squad, shouting defiance. Cos' others will take up the fight.

It is to break down and grovel for "forgiveness". When that is done, one has then to "love" those that humiliate and have ground one down. This is the final defeat. This man has money and the wonderful freedom that is granted to citizens of the United States. He could tell them all to "go fly a kite". Or use some choice Anglo-Saxon four lettered words.

Too late, but I could recommend the man, a book. True, I do not know the author's political views . It is "Blue Highways" by William Least Heat Moon. An odyssey by a man around the perimeter of the United States. The stories of ordinary Americans who have come to realise who they are and are comparatively happy.

Excuse the rant. I do have an adult beverage to hand.

The NBA is setting up to take away Sterling's property for words he spoke. What is the legality of that? California is a common property state, his wife owns half of the team. Can the NBA take away her property on these grounds?

I'd love to see Sterling sue the NBA and hit them with discovery. Who made what decisions? Did Magic Johnson have any role? He's been rumored as the desirable buyer of the Clippers. What was the communication between the NBA Commssioner and Johnson, if any?

Lots and lots of questions. What's the precedence for this action?

Sterling is well represented, and has been throughout this incident. There appears to be some question as to whether he’s taking that advice, though...

Maybe I should finally get around to reading “1984”.

Magic got HIV 20 years ago and STILL appears well.

You know what? I don’t think he ever got it.

I think he was about to retire anyway, and they needed someone famous to propagandize for the gay community and for AIDS and they crowned Magic to do it for them.

Like 20 years, right?

Something doesn’t smell right.

He claimed that jealousy is what fueled his comments and not race. One of the things that I said was "don't bring blacks to my game." Twenty-five percent of the people at my games is black. She would always use the black word. That's a black girl. So when she said I'll bring four gorgeous black guys to the game, players, I was a little jealous, maybe.

This is definitely the TRUTH. I've posted here earlier that the issue was SEX…Dear ole Donald didn't want to be reminded that his girlfriend's other boyfriends were considered sexier and -- ahem -- better endowed. Why should she flash it in his face at his games?

Cooper comes from much older money than Mr. Sterling probably does:

Sterling came from the worst neighborhood in East LA and made every one of his billion dollars himself--with help from his very smart wife.

Good. I, for one, don’t think he should be punished AT ALL for something he said in his own home, especially if he was secretly taped without his knowledge. I hope he takes Silver and the NBA to the cleaners.

When I worked at the unemployment office years ago one of my clients told me he was one of the first HIV patients (from a transfusion) and never developed AIDS. The medical community was paying him a very nice living so that they could study him and figure out why he never became ill.

How the World’s Richest Family Went Broke

http://www.earlytorise.com/how-the-worlds-richest-family-went-broke/#

here’s an excerpt :

Within just 30 years of the death of the Commodore no member of the Vanderbilt family was among the richest in the US. And 48 years after his death, one of his grandchildren is said to have died penniless.
In less than a single generation the surviving Vanderbilts had spent the majority of their family wealth! And the wealth was virtually gone within four generations. How was this possible?
Simply put, they went from producers of great wealth, to great consumers of it.

The Vanderbilts held a family reunion at Vanderbilt University in 1973 attended by 120 family members. Not one of them was even a millionaire.

interesting his last remark on the tape was a reference to V recording him for two years and he didn’t know about it? I thought she self-identified as his “archivist”?
