Magic Johnson: I Will Pray for Donald Sterling
Christian Post ^ | 05/14/2014 | Morgan Lee

In the wake of Donald Sterling's accusations against Magic Johnson on Monday that he was a bad role model for Los Angeles youth, the former NBA star issued a response saying that he would pray for the Clippers' owner.

Johnson, who called Sterling's remarks during an interview with Anderson Cooper on CNN "disturbing," defended his body of work, and brushed off his claims, adding "I'm not going to sit here and let Donald Sterling disrupt my day, my year, my month. I'm a guy that's very secure with myself."

The former NBA great and current owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Sparks told TMZ on Tuesday that he had "invested over a billion dollars in urban America."

Additionally, Johnson said he was responsible for putting 50,000 minorities to work, building 18 technology centers nationwide to give students without computers access and sending 10,000 minorities to college through his foundation.

"I'm proud of my work," he said. "I know the things I've done in urban America and for people."

On Monday's broadcast, Sterling, 80, told the host that "If I said anything wrong, I'm sorry."

He added, "[Johnson's] a good person. I mean, what am I going to say? Has he done everything he can do to help minorities? I don't think so. But I'll say it, he's great. But I don't think he's a good example for the children of Los Angeles."

Johnson, who is HIV-positive, was also accused by Sterling of having AIDS.

"What kind of guy goes to every city, has sex with every girl, then catches HIV?" Sterling told Anderson Cooper. "I think he should be ashamed of himself."

After Sterling's interview last night, Johnson tweeted, "After this week, no more Sterling talk. Just the NBA Playoffs, my @Dodgers and my @LA_Sparks!"

Johnson was also interviewed by CNN, in an episode screened Tuesday night. In clips released Tuesday afternoon, Johnson characterized Sterling as a man "who's upset and he's reaching."

"He's reaching. He's trying to find something that he can grab on to help him save his team. And it's not going to happen. ... I'm a God-fearing man and I'm going to pray for him and hope things work out for him," he continued.

Johnson also told TMZ Tuesday morning that he had counseled Sterling after the fallout to apologize immediately and try to make the situation go away.

Sterling, a Jewish lawyer and real estate investor, was being banned for life from NBA proceedings by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver last month. After TMZ released audio of Sterling telling his alleged former mistress V. Stiviano not to associate with black people, the NBA fined him $2.5 million and said he was working to oust Sterling as owner of the Clippers, needing a 75 percent vote from other NBA team owners.

Mr. Johnson was renowned as a whore monger and reprobate during his active years, claiming sex with as many women as some of the golden age male porn stars.

While his actions since then may have redeemed him somewhat in the eyes of heaven, he is far from the first person anyone should hope appeals on their behalf.

One of the best moments in TV was when Howard Stern went on Magic’s Short-Lived Late Night Talk Show and totally owned him.

That’s one thing about Stern, say what you will, he knows a phoney when he sees one.

Ouch!

another source said that Magic’s ex-teammate, Norm Nixon, had started floating a different scenario: that Magic most likely contracted HIV during an infamous sex party at Eddie Murphy’s mansion, where often times, transexual hookers were involved.

Obviously, Murphy’s transsexual, uhm, “interests” were already publicized after his embarrassing pull-over incident in 1997. Our source pressed a little bit and never tracked down Nixon, but said he had other people willing to verify Magic’s non-female proclivities on the record.

Maybe he should be concentrating on praying for himself.Or is this all about $$$ to him?

Donald Sterling is an honest guy. His CNN interview was revealing, in that he stayed true to his beliefs and rejects worrying about political correctness.

I am not going to add the caveat of how his remarks were horrendous, disgusting, etc. because they weren’t. Racist? Maybe, depending on your definition.

In any case, he has a RIGHT to be a racist. He has the RIGHT to free speech. He has the RIGHT to offend people.
He has the RIGHT to be wrong. So why must this guy be DESTROYED? Who (or how many) did he KILL?

What about the many holocaust deniers? Why aren’t they all publicly DESTROYED? Why aren’t their companies taken away from them? Why aren’t they being ostracized 24/7 on CNN and every other media outlet AND talk radio stations like Donald Sterling is? Is there any question who is the bigger racist?

Am I disgusted by Donald Sterling? First let me list people that REALLY disgust me, long before Donald Sterling comes to mind.

Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, AlGore, Planned Parenthood, Alan Combs, Anthony Wiener, Larry Flynt, Woody Allen, Kathy Griffin, and on and on and on.

HSK Exclusive - Word from the streets of Chicago…

Lisa Raye seems to have no problem with playing Russian roulette with her life. Know why? Sources say even though “The Real McCoy” was fully aware Magic Johnson was infected with HIV

She got to meet Magic Johnson, who was using the pick-up line, “I will manage you”, to get new jump-offs. Lisa jumped straight at the casting couch

Magic is said to have slept with 300-500 women per year throughout his career

And, still, none of these women who’ve ever slept with Magic Johnson seemed opportunistic enough to step forward and tell their tale. Neither have the transsexual prostitutes. So once again, the story of Magic’s HIV survival takes front and center over how he actually got it. That Frontline documentary will have to wait for another day.

When did Magic Johnson become the conscience of the NBA?

Let alone its spokesman?

Magic Johnson son publicly shows he’s gay

Tuesday, 09 April 2013 13:51 Editor Sports

Magic Johnson son, Earvin Johnson III (or EJ), 20, has for the first time been spotted in public holding hands with a boyfriend.

The NYU student, who had not previously made his sexuality public, was on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles.

The news met with the obvious approval of his famous father — full name Earvin “Magic” Johnson — who spent his pro basketball career with the LA Lakers.

In 1992, he joined the National Commission on AIDS, a committee appointed by members of Congress and the Bush Administration. Johnson left after eight months, saying that the White House had “utterly ignored” the work of the panel, and had opposed the commission’s recommendations, which included universal healthcare and the expansion of Medicaid to cover all low-income people with AIDS.

I think everybody is missing the point of why Sterling was angry. If you had given 2 Bently's and a Ferrari along with an apartment to your squeeze, why would you want pics of her running with other men? It makes you look like you might not be satisfying her. He gave her freedom to do what she wanted, but just don't flaunt it. If he had been prejudiced, don't you think he would have peppered a couple of "N" words in the conversation? She seemed to prefer 7 foot monsters so the inference was he wasn't reaching the right spots. As far as "Magic" Johnson, I wouldn't want AID's brought home to me either.

I think it had more to do with his virility than bigotry. If you pay the money, you should get what you pay for, IMO. If she didn't want the money, just leave and do what you want, but don't try to have it both ways. I think his biggest problem was he didn't get a high class hooker like most billionaires get. If you're a gold digger and land a billionaire, shouldn't she have done whatever it took to keep him? Ar we going to pretend it was true love?

Owning a basketball team with a black coach just doesn't really scream "racist" to me. If you peel back a layer or two, we may get to a plan for Oprah and Magic buying the team. There is something more than racism here IMO.

The NBA is just one of various control mechanisms the financial elites use to control sheeple.

They say, in effect: Focus on the basketball instead of how you are a debt slave and your children are indoctrinated into new world order as unthinking slaves; and by the way, if we take a viewpoint on a moral issue, side with the NBA. Ignore the Bible, side with the NBA.

The NFL too.
A couple of years ago, when it looked like Fast & Furious might get the traction to become a national issue, the NFL was in the middle of a strike and there was the distinct possibility of the season being canceled — I really was hoping that it would be.

A couple of weeks ago Magic Johnson visited Saginaw Michigan for his “Magic of Promise” fundraiser. All of the local TV stations, radio stations and newspapers were gushing about how great is Magic Johnson. Magic was quoted about how he wanted to help the “inner city kids that looked like him”. Not one work of condemation about how racist that is for Saginaw. No followup or apology from Magic. Maybe he should have his money taken from him?
