New IRS emails describe Washington direction of Tea Party targeting efforts
Washington Examiner ^ | May 14, 2014 | BY MARK TAPSCOTT

Posted on 05/14/2014 9:51:27 AM PDT by Oldeconomybuyer

Newly released internal Internal Revenue Service emails obtained by the group Judicial Watch document active direction by the federal tax agency's headquarters in targeting Tea Party and conservative nonprofit applicants during the 2010 and 2012 campaigns.

In a July 2012 email, Holly Paz, who was then director of the IRS Rulings and Agreements division, asked IRS lawyer Steven Grodnitzky “to let Cindy and Sharon know how we have been handling Tea Party applications in the last few months.”

Cindy Thomas is the former director of the IRS Exempt Organizations office in Cincinnati, and Sharon Camarillo was a senior manager in its Los Angeles office.

The email conflicts with claims by Obama administration officials that the targeting effort was done exclusively by the government workers in the Cincinnati IRS office.

In a February 2010 memo, Thomas directed a colleague to "let 'Washington' know about this potentially politically embarrassing case involving a 'Tea Party' organization.

In the April 2013 email, Lerner describes the broad criteria for including a nonprofit applicant among those targeted as being linked to the Tea Party under the BOLO -- "Be On The Lookout" for -- designation:

Such applicants included "organizations meeting any of the following criteria as falling within the BOLO's reference to "tea party" organizations: 1. 'Tea Party', 'Patriots' or '9/12 Project' is referenced in the case file. 2. Issues include government spending, government debt and taxes. 3. Educate the public through advocacy/legislative activities to make America a better place to live. 4. Statements in the case file that are critical of the how the country is being run."

If we find out that the private tax returns of conservative talk show hosts were pilfered and given directly to White House staffers (a HUGE violation of way too many Federal laws in regards to privacy of taxpayer information), it could get both Eric Holder and Valerie Jarrett fired and ending up in Federal prison.

Jarret gives face-to-face or otherwise untraceable instructions, so nothing can be traced to the boy-king, or herself.

Ever notice how Judicial Watch can get documents, and the GOP committees can’t? Is is incompetence or deceit?

In Boehner's case, it's all those damned pink elephants dancing around in his bedroom. They keep him awake all night.

This corrupt administration used the full power of the irs for the wrong purpose. This is a severe dereliction of duty, and an abuse of the trust given to them by the public.

However, the people are not in the streets with pickets, so I can safely conclude that the people have taken their sheep training seriously, and are ready to bare their bottoms and ask for another one.

My wife and I received a check from the IRS (U.S. Treasury) two days ago for $1.35. There was no explanation letter why or what it was for, just a check! Today we received two letters, one addressed to my wife and one addressed to me. Both letters said that an examination of our 2012 return exposed an error and the IRS owed us $1.35.

Holy Krap! They spent more money to have someone going through our 2012 return and issuing, printing and sending an actual check(with no explanation) and then two separate letters with the explanation for why - than the $1.35 was worth.

“Steven Grodnitzky (aka weasel) is a tax attorney and a manager...”

I find your comparison to weasels offensive —to weasels!

BTW...with this IRS situation I suspect our Founding Fathers would already be shooting by now (or lynching if they could get their hands on these weasels)!

Judicial Watch Obtains New Documents Showing IRS Targeting Came Directly From Washington D.C.

Katie Pavlich | May 14, 2014

New documents obtained and released through a Judicial Watch lawsuit show the targeting of tea party and conservative groups came directly out of Washington D.C., not a rogue IRS office in Cincinnati.

On July 6, 2012, former Director of the IRS Rulings and Agreements Division and current Manager of Exempt Organizations Guidance Holly Paz sent an email to IRS Attorney Steven Grodnitzky asking for an explanation of how tea party group applications were being handled. Grodnitzky responded by confirming the cases were being handled in Washington.

“EOT is working the Tea party applications in coordination with Cincy. We are developing a few applications here in DC and providing copies of our development letters with the agent to use as examples in the development of their cases. Chip Hull [another lawyer in IRS headquarters] is working these cases in EOT and working with the agent in Cincy, so any communication should include him as well. Because the Tea party applications are the subject of an SCR [Sensitive Case Report], we cannot resolve any of the cases without coordinating with Rob,” Grodnitzky wrote.

Judicial Watch also found the IRS put red and orange alert symbols on tea party issues for heightened awareness. Here are two slides from a “Heightened Awareness Presentation” used at the IRS.

“Impeachment.”

Why ? We dont have the votes to convict and USA had a clear choice in 2012, choir boy, financial wiz, Mitt Romney or community organizer, tobacco smoking, former and possible cocaine smoking, socialist, maxist Barack Obama.

America chose Obama. And as far as I can tell, the only bad thing Romney did in his life is partcipate in a minor hazing incident 30 years ago.

“Ever notice how Judicial Watch can get documents, and the GOP committees can’t? Is is incompetence or deceit?”

Why limit it to just one or the other? What about duplicity, cowardice, incompetence, AND deceit?

“Johnny B. and Mitchy M. hate the Tea Party almost as much and Barry does”

Almost as much? Try MORE than!

“It wouldn’t surprise me if we eventually discover that the IRS harassment of Tea Party groups enjoyed “bipartisan” support.”

You don’t actually think the inaction on this is an accident do you?

There is no party but the uniparty, and the ‘rats and republicans are collaborating factions.
