Very cool. I have a friend who is an author, and a committed liberal and a member of this organization. I just tagged him on this on Facebook. Last I talked to him he had decided that George Sr. and Barbara were good people which is a start.

Sounds like one of those “I’m a good person because I’m a liberal” kinda liberals.

Actually he’s a good person, just misinformed. He’s had two best sellers, loves his wife and children, volunteers by reading at grade schools, and has a profession where he helps people. He supports the military and school vouchers. Its just a matter of time before he comes around. He needs to stop listening to NPR.

But again…it makes terrible radio!!!!

Gosh. I don’t get it. No homos, no mention of “pro choice”, he didn’t bash the military or Reagan or George Washington and he still won?

oh dear Lord, don’t be paranoid. The point is, every profession helps people, and I’m very suspicious of anyone claiming to be in a profession that “helps people” - as if that’s rare.

True, he didn’t say so…..but you did…..

CEW truth of life 1: there’s no one quite so greedy as a liberal who “is not in it for the money.”

If you want to help him, you have to address THE base assumption that leads libs to be libs,

and sometimes they are not willing to even discuss it, because it goes to the heart of the condition of man.

Liberalism stems from the humanist belief that we’re all “basically good” and that any evil in the world is environmentally caused.

True reality, however, lies in the fact that man is fallen, limited in moral stamina, and cannot be trusted with power over his fellow man because of inevitable abuse of that power.

Oddly enough, when I worked in a bookstore over the Christmas season, conservatives would throw a fit that his book was consigned to the children’s section. They didn’t know it was a children’s book.

Congrats, Rush.

You can pretty much be guaranteed that anyone who says he’s in any profession “to help people” is helping one person in particular - himself. And not in a corrupt way, but he’s in it to make HIMSELF feel “righteous” for caring.

I haven't read it, but we bought it for my 12 YO son. He loved it! He's now reading it for a second time, he said it fills the time he spends on the bus every day.

We live in a very conservative area, so much so that middle schoolers wear t-shirts from their church's religious ed programs at school.

I was wondering why you would be pushing your Marxist agenda on 4th graders. It would be wise to also introduce them to the other side if you choose to make your mission to indoctrinate them into liberalism.

I have made a list of items you can cover while touting your hero Obama.

Ambassador Stevens
The dead members of Seal Team Six
92 million unemployed Americans
The price of gas and the Keystone Pipeline along with the war on Coal
The release of 38k illegals this week who are murders and rapist
The Constitution and how the government has no right to make Americans BUY healthcare.
Socialized medicine, Canada would be a good conversation for the children
The infiltration of the Muslim Brotherhood in our Pentagon.
Traditional marriage between a man and women.
AIDS
The incarceration of Marine Andrew Tahmooressi in Mexico who your hero ignores.

Please feel free to discuss the above and your hero.

I was arguing with a liberal who said something outrageously liberal and I said `that is so liberal!’

He snapped, “Don’t you dare use the word ‘liberal’ like it’s some kind of CURSE!!!”

Veins popping as he raged.

Here’s how I see it: in every private sector enterprise, you only survive by giving customers and vendors and co workers what they want and need…in other words helping them. In our PC society, that’s called being greedy however.

Those who run non profits or bureaucracies in social service for a salary get credit for helping, when in fact those are now relatively high pay low risk fields. Teaching is a gravy gig. And yet, there is a collective “worship” of those who do these jobs. It’s nauseating.

Excellent book. I highly recommend it.

I have come across numerous articles about the "Author of the Year" award, many whining how dare they nominate Rush L. Yet I could not find a single one that listed the other finalists.

I’ve found the biggest slap in the face to a leftist is making them face the fact that all the “good” things they want to do through the government have to have FORCE behind them in order to make people comply.
In essence, they are authorizing people point guns at other people in order to make them comply with their “feel good” policies.

Very small start for lib to say something nice about ole "read my lips, no new taxes!" Give him some real meat, like a series of columns by Dr. Sowell then see what he says.

Doubly impressive in that if I went to ten libraries today, I doubt I could find it in more than two.

And in those two it would be wedged into a bottom shelf in the Home Remodeling section of the adult shelves.

My wife and I have both read the books and they are well written and factually correct, except Liberty was a mare and she had a lisp.

We gave a copy to our niece and nephews. Great book! Congratulations Rush, for once again making liberal heads explode! Some years ago I gave a pro Obama children’s book called “Child of Promise, Child of Hope” or something like that to my very conservative neighbors’ son at his 4th birthday party as a gag gift. The look on my friend’s face was priceless when his son unwrapped it.In the book, Obama’s mother was black, and it was hilarious.

I continue to be astounded at R's calls. Some have been calling every day for decades trying to get on his radio program, but never do. Yet, nearly every day, someone calls and manages to get through to talk about his books.

Amazing!
