A tough gun? More like an arrogant slob! These are two men who refuse to live the gender that was assigned to them by nature. All that is necessary for them is that they drop the facade and live the life of a man. Think about it; all that is necessary is that they drop that arrogance and live like men.
Also you don't know how many sides of the street the Reverend Al was playing. He may well have let his people know he was on the wire. I one recalls correctly, this was the era when Whitey Bulger had the FBI on the pad and used them to eliminate Mafia rivals.
Bit of a three-way toss-up as to who is guilty of what when you are working with the DEA, the FBI, and various Mob factions. All dirty.
I suggest the Mob simply can’t compete successfully any more with government, at any level. They’ve PERFECTED extortion, racketeering, etc.
