SAN JOSE -- An 18-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly hit a 4-year-old girl and her father with a crowbar inside a Walmart late Tuesday morning, police said.

Maria Garate, a San Jose resident, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after she walked into the Walmart, located at 777 Story Road, around 10:59 a.m. and struck the girl and her father, police said.

Garate approached the pair and without warning hit the 4-year-old girl over the head with a crowbar, according to a police statement. Garate attempted to hit the girl again, police said, but the father, who has not been identified, stepped in to protect his daughter and was struck instead.

The incident took place just over a half mile from a well-known homeless encampment known as "the Jungle." Police said they had contacted Garate there before, but they could not confirm Garate was a resident of the encampment and did not say why they had come into contact before.

OK, mind races, but here is a scenario for which I admittedly have no direct evidence, dad (father of 4 year old) and loony tune are are a “couple” and loony tune is jealous of the way 4 year has daddy wrapped around her little finger.

I deal with this day in and day out, the new romantic partner is jealous of the same sex child. I tell these morons that the child comes first, the child was there first, you knew he/she had children when you got into this, if you can’t handle it, find someone with no children, they will never put you first, it is not cool to compete with a child.

People are such jerks

If I see anyone carrying a deadly instrument, my hand is in my pocket flicking off the safety of my handgun. This would have been a “clean up on aisle 9” event if I was the father, even if CCW is banned in Commiefornia. I’ll take my chances with the judge and jury.

Loony tune is just one of the local homeless. There may be no more connection to the attacked girl and her father than they were in the same place at the same time as loony tune when loony tune’s fuse burned down to the main charge.

I think the fact that she lived in a “homeless encampment” probably has more to do with it. And she had been “contacted by the police before” for something they refused to discuss.

“Wally Hell”

I was in our Wally World the other day.
You know the aisle after you’ve checked-out, on your way to the door? The restrooms, service counter, etc.—some fat **** in an electric wheelchair was screaming at an old woman in front of him, who was being assisted by a guy in a blue smock, because she was moving too slowly for him.
I told him to settle down and then he started yelling obscenities at me and the rest of the store. No store employee got involved.
So yeah, shopping at Wal-hel for the savings is something like marrying for money (or spending some quality time in Bedlam).
You pay for the savings in other ways: `unconscious’ fellow shoppers blocking aisles/barging in front of you, you can’t leave your cart alone for too long, etc. I half expect soon to see vendors in the food section frying goat on a garbage can lids.
So yeah, I find myself recently opting more-and-more to pay at a real grocery store—and I find recently they beat Wal-hel on some prices!—just to avoid that wonderful Third world Wal-experience.

Noticed right off on the header provided by the Mercury, it said “teen”, instead of “woman” or “adult” (although the writer/editor uses “woman” in the article. IMHO, the use of “teen” was meant to invoke an image of a youngster, not an adult. IMHO the MSM is using these words for whatever agenda the writer is pushing. (or the “journalists” for the MSM today are poorly trained in “college” or are just stupid, IMHO)

Example, a teen, 17 year-old perished in a drowning accident. Horrible, but the writer/editor used as a header, “young boy” drowns in pool. Young boy invokes an image of a toddler, not a 17 teen year-old.

You’d have no problem with my local Walmart. It’s in the middle of a large commercial park area called Turkey Creek where there’s nothing but a large mass of businesses, most of them consumer oriented. The only practical way to get to it is by bicycle or private car. It’s essentially a giant open air business mall covering many hundreds of acres. There’s little or no public transit access and no rail transit.
