A U.S. Republican lawmaker on Thursday issued a second subpoena for Secretary of State John Kerry to testify before Congress this month about the 2012 attacks on U.S. facilities in Benghazi.

The State Department reacted angrily, saying it was the second time Kerry had been subpoenaed while on foreign travel, and noted the announcement had been made via Twitter. "This is not the way legitimate and responsible oversight is conducted," said State Department spokeswoman Marie Barf.

House of Representatives Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa had earlier issued a subpoena for Kerry to appear on May 21, but lifted that request after the State Department said it would conflict with Kerry's travel schedule. The subpoena issued on Thursday would require him to appear on May 29.

“Could be a mistake, but Issa wants answers from Lurch why.....” <<<-—the thing is, the answer to the question “why” is almost never useful, because behind that why is another why and another why and the line of questioning can *only* end up in a speculation as to someone’s motivation, which is inevitably an opinion. You/we are never ever going to see a memo that unequivocably states “we want to kill Chris Stevens because he knows about our plan to arm the Syrian rebels with surplus arms we already gave to Libya and either he succeeds or fails, but we can never let that information out.” There generally isn’t any item of tangible proof that can come from verbal (only) testimony that begins as an answer to the question “why”. And the more that Kerry is made to look like an idiot, which is no challenge, the more these hearings look like political theater to embarass the witnesses.

“Personally, I’d rather let Mr. Gowdy handle all Benghazi matters.” <<<-—period, end of subject.

“It will be nice seeing him on the other side of the table.
Pray America wakes up”

here’s the problem. if they hold hearings that show reprehensible behavior by this administration, and the media doesn’t report it, did it really happen?
