Even so. They tried to terminate the relationship over Gaystapo harassment.
What slimes. Boycott anyway. They already made a mistake.
'nuff said.
and who do you bank with? Rhetorical
> The bank didnt go into detail about why they originally cut ties with the Benham brothers, though said the decision was made by a third party vendor. TheDC reported earlier Friday that the vendor had told a Benham Brothers franchisee that the bank itself made the decision.
Thanks kristinn.
The fact that it is now legal to discriminate against Christians is very troubling.
I would like to know the name of the third party vendor.
I bank with SunTrust. I’m glad they listened to the outcry and reversed this decision.
Operation Choke Point.
It won’t be long before everyone will have to swear to support gays before they can get a TV show.
I agree...
>> I know where their ultimate loyalties lie.
The company boards aren’t necessarily involved in every decision made by management. Not saying that’s the case with SunTrust.
I can think of only a few extreme reasons a company should act quickly in terms of PR.
>> The fact that it is now legal to discriminate against Christians is very troubling.
It’s not legal. And that’s just as troubling.
“Its not legal. And thats just as troubling”
Not disturbing that [discriminating against Christians] isn’t legal; disturbing that it’s happening, and the perpetrators are going unpunished under applicable laws.
Gotta be clear, here.
Worthy clarification. Thank you.

They will *always* back off on gay-related issues, because they're a southern bank, and the vast majority of its customers are white southerners. (The vast numbers of southern black welfare recipients, who account for much of the surplus of federal dollar inflows vs outflows in the region, mean that most blacks in the south don't have significant interactions with banks). White southerners would literally have driven the bank out of business if this had persisted. Long before that happened, the CEO would have been out on his butt, due to a crashing stock price.
SunTrust hates Christians is the lead story; so, shareholders should take the top dogs to task for throwing away profitable business just to feed the ego and popularity of the top brass. It is stealing from shareholders. The top brass should be fired post haste and pay restitution to the shareholders for the business lost.
Same with Cracker Barrel execs who banned Duck Dynasty products.
Message: Shareholders are pissed because THEIR companies won’t do business with Christians and thereby steal money out of the shareholders’ wallets.
Message 2: I (and many others) don’t like discrimination, so I ceased doing business with Denny’s and Cracker Barrel; and while I do no business with SunTrust, I won’t, and I won’t buy their stock.
Indeed . .and illegal
Not just stautory (so-called “Civil Right” legislation
But also Constitutional Freedom of Religion/Association > legislative
No legislation should ever trump a Constitutional right, esp First Amendment ones
SunTrust is a lousy bank, at least in the Baltimore-DC-NoVA area. They would have been better off to find another partner. Maybe another banker will reach out to them.
