A British man has been been jailed for nine years after telling his girlfriend to plunge her 21-month-old daughter's head into a bucket of water, leading to the toddler's death. Ammaz Qureshi was in London when he made a Skype call to his girlfriend, Yasmin Chaudhry, in Norway, telling her how to discipline her daughter Hunaina.

Yorkshireman? Geordie? Cockney? Which?
So much hatred in the world, that we know. But toward a 21-month-old child? May God rest her soul.
The Shire is in desperate need of cleansing.
No matter, all cultures are equal.
Ammaz Qureshi... does not sound British to me.
Am always amazed when I hear stories like a American or Brit is being held or whatever, then it turns out his name is Ammaz Qureshi or something like that
Typical islamist dogman.
***does not sound British to me***
Perhaps the name is characteristic of the Amish Brits? </sarc>
Read the other punishments this dingbat “mother” handed out to this poor child. May God be merciful; I sure wouldn’t be.
From the article, the Skype-guy wasn’t the father, just some boyfriend who gave “authority in her life.”
“Asian.”. *cough, cough*
“Ammaz Qureshi... does not sound British to me.”
I’m afraid that it sounds quite British to me. The most popular name for baby boys in England currently is Mohammed.
The mother's boyfriend told the mother to use this punishment in a Skype session, but he was not present and did not participate in the drowning. His sentence was nine years.
Is there some good explanation for this?
They don’t have the death penalty.
Liberalism at work. Just don’t try to engage in self defense...you’ll get no mercy.
Yes, I want to know why she wasn't given the death sentence.
What do I get if I tell someone to jump off a roof?
Seriously....people are responsible for their own actions.
Not in England, they're not.
Poor little Hunaina never had a chance.
Story reminds me of Sybil. No wonder the child was “difficult”.
But why does the guy who suggested it get one more year than the person who did it?
Manson wasn’t at the murder of Sharon Tate and others but he got life for his part as the leader. Which is okay with me.
IIRC, wasn’t David in big trouble for the death of Uriah, even though he counted on other people to do the real dirty work for him? Thou art the man, said Nathan. I don’t get why conspiracy to murder isn’t being recognized as the serious crime that it is.
Well, if you don’t have the death penalty, give the sucker multiple life sentences. This kid has been born, so abortion isn’t even a relevant excuse here. This child could have been given up for adoption. This is just low, and messed up.
If I told you in a Skype session that I thought it would be a good idea for you to rob a bank, and you robbed the bank and were caught, would I deserve to be sentenced to prison? Would I deserve to receive a longer sentence than you received?
“British man”? I don’t think so
Manson was sentenced to death. The California Supreme Court changed his sentence to life.
Oh, had. So much worse than any western male expecting his sex object girlfriend to have an abortion if it doesn’t work out in the way he planned, that is, to have sex out of, or inside of, marriage without consequences.
At first, when I heard a program on the radio that said that the UK might have to give up its nuclear arsenal if Scotland voted to leave the union, I thought it was NOT a good thing.
Then I considered demographics such as the one you mention and thought it can’t come soon enough.
That’s what I said ..he got life.
And the mother
Doesn't quite mesh.
Um... Unfortunately the way Britain is going, yes it does.
