Residents of the north suburbs woke up to light snow on Friday, the first time it has snowed in Chicago in May in nearly 10 years.

Snow was falling in Hoffman Estates and Deerfield around 7:30 a.m. Snow was also reported on cars in the western suburbs.

WRONG, for the following reasons:

1.) IF we assume that CO2 is the root problem to Global Warming and Climate Change, THEN consider what would happen if atmospheric CO2 were, somehow, to be eliminated:

The process of Photosynthesis, defined chemically as follows:

6CO2 + 6H2O + (n)photons = C6H12O6 + 6CO2

would cease to generate carbohydrates, (C6H12O6), for most plants and the animals that eat the plants and eat the animals that eat the plants.

2.) To the best of my research, there has never been a cause and effect experiment that establishes that a change* in the concentration of CO2 has had a measurable effect on the temperature of the air.
*Note: at atmospheric concentrations of CO2 approximating maximum to minimum living conditions for most plants.

3.) All known published speculations on the effect of CO2 on temperature are based on the false assumption, as proven by # 2 above, that there is a measurable effect of the change in atmospheric concentration of CO2 on the temperature of the atmosphere.

Yeah, we’ve been having an unseasonable amount of white global warming land on my neck ‘o Colorado this spring. In fact, we now have another casualty of Global Warming here in Colorado: we’ve had to say goodbye to the Front Range rule of thumb that it’s safe to plant your tomatoes after Mother’s Day.

Since Global Warming has been making everything so unseasonably cold, I’m kind of hoping for some Global Cooling to warm things up a bit.

CO2 is the limiting reactant in photosynthesis, so it goes to reason that we could have a reasonable rise in atmospheric CO2.and slightly improve an aspect of plant growth.

We had snow on Mother’s Day in 2000.

It’s because glow-bull warming has NOT reached that far south. It’s still busy melting the polar ice caps. Be patient, it will get there in due time. But to be safe they should go ahead and issue flood warnings.

The bottom line IMO is: God knows when it will be hot; and when it will be cold.

The wisdom of man is foolishness with God!

God created the heaven and earth, only he can destroy it.

Now that is an offense to many.

Charlie Chan say:

“Maybe skies stay blue,
But Green go away
When CO2 not come
Out to play.”

Mayor Rahm Emmanuel was walking and hit some ice and fell onto a snowy lawn where he was thrashing around to get back up. A wino saw him and yelled, “Quit trying to make snow-jackasses and get up and run some red lights!”

I remember this storm in 1977 like it was yesterday.

Trees, loaded with leaves, were falling all over the place because of the weight of the snow..We lost one.

Graewoulf, does this sound about right?

Fact: CO2 emissions per year = 30 billion tons

Fact: The atmosphere = 5 quadrillion tons

30 billion / 5 quadrillion = 0.000005%

Conclusion: The GLOBAL total of CO2 emissions per year is equivalent to 5 ten millionths of one percent of the total atmosphere.

Fact: CO2 emissions per year = 30 billion tons

Fact: Current CO2 percentage of atmosphere = 0.0397%

Fact: The atmosphere = 5 quadrillion tons

.0397% of 5 quadrillion = 198.5 trillion tons of CO2 currently in the atmosphere.

30 billion / 198.5 trillion = 0.00015%

Conclusion: The GLOBAL total of CO2 emissions per year is equivalent to 15 hundred thousandths of one percent of the total carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Moral: No matter what the warmers tell you, peeing in Lake Superior will NOT make the lake warmer.

The ignorance is astounding! Stuck on stupid!

Send these poor brainwashed people to a good geology class.

Someone who has had physics or another science affording the answer to this question, help me out.

Some of the furor is over certain glaciers breaking up. I know that has happened before in geological time and other glaciers have grown back. This was in a time before man made carbons.

My question is this. In my freezer, I notice ice cubes left in for weeks or months shrink and become crumbly. Isn't that a minute example of what happens to glaciers--eventually they desiccate and crumble because the moisture seeps out of them.

Isn't this what happens to glaciers over time and what is it called?

Just had a horrible thought--IS GLOBAL WARMING HAPPENING IN MY FREEZER?/s

Ya, froze some of the field corn out last night in the river bottoms, don’t know if it was a killer yet as the growth point above ground has alot to do with it. Fields around here were up 2-5 inches.

Average last frost here is like April 18.

Covered the tomatoes, though.

Considering the amount of ire for the Dems by the public, what happens when conservative Pubbies (or even GOP-E) win the popular vote?

What will they do then? Go back to the electoral college?
