Skip to comments.Dem poll: Half of young Obama voters donít plan to vote blue in November

Behold, yet another data point indicating that Obama’s 2012 re-election coalition is splintering or flat-out apathetic heading into the midterm cycle, via the Washington Post:
As this graph illustrates, less than a third of Obama’s 2012 Millennial voters say they’ll “definitely” vote for Democrats this fall. Almost as many have abandoned the party label completely, either by shifting to independent status or by supporting Republicans. When this Democratic pollster tabulates the data, he finds that only half of all the young Obama voters surveyed will definitely, probably, or maybe vote for Democrats in the midterms. The rest plan to sit at home, or to back other candidates. In 2010, Millennial turnout dropped significantly compared to 2008, and the gap between the two parties among those who did vote narrowed considerably. The strategist’s advice to Democrats, therefore, is to “heavily invest” in turning out “progressive Millennials,” pronto. If the party heeds his counsel, expect to hear a lot about gay marriage and birth control over the next six months. Also via WaPo, here’s a chart that employs the (fairly Democrat-friendly) NBC/WSJ polling series to track this year’s fundamentals, comparing the current numbers to surveys conducted before previous midterm waves. Chris Cillizza says the results “should scare Democrats:”
Those indicators — which are also reflected in other public polling — would certainly seem suggest that Democrats are cruisin’ for a bruisin’ this fall. But lest conservatives start counting chickens, allow me to float two friendly reminders: (1) The most vulnerable Senate Democrat incumbent, on paper at least, is leading his (highly impressive) Republican challenger by double digits according to some polls, though others show a very tight race. (2) Republican-held Senate seats in Georgia and Kentucky aren’t necessarily gimmes either. I’ll add one more: Even if young Obama voters do blow off the midterm elections this year, they sure seem pretty susceptible to hype over famous presidential candidates with cool friends and vague, history-making campaign themes. What could go wrong?*
*AP, feel free to just FedEx me the Eeyore crown whenever you have a spare moment.
Why, oh why would We, the People have any compelling reasons to vote for any Doormat Republicans, or Obama Democrats who have promised to advance Obamas Agenda to Fundamentally transform the United States of America by increasing the number of undocumented Democrat voters who are Illegal Alien Invaders from Mexico?
The Exodus of the “11” million Illegal Alien Invaders from Mexico back to Mexico would lower the US unemployment rate from 6+ % to 1+ % !
All Doormat Boehner has to do is NOT bring his Boehner Amnesty Bill in the House up for a vote and Reids Senate Amnesty Bill dies a well-deserved, and NECESSARY death.
We, the People have seen our Federal Politicians in the Republican and Democrat Party enable Obama, for over five years, to bring great harm to the United States of America.
Those, in both political parties, who cant stand America, stand against We, the People.
We, the People know that it is time, - - - time for a change in 2014.
whipped into a frenzy by their Marxist professors, they came out in 2012 because he was black. and that’s all there is to it.
You’ve just got to love the rewards of the massive Obama success story for the Democrats.
Welcome voters..., we’re very hospitable to those who want our country back.
Well sure... Black, and Marxist... and Islamic to boot...
Dang, the tripple whammy of nation state destruction.
These maroons are also removing the bumper stickers from their rides - shame causes action.
It'll be harder for them to get this effect in an off-year election though.
NOT bring his Boehner Amnesty Bill in the House up for a vote”
They want to do this in August when everyone is distracted by vacations. Slims.
So they plan to vote Communist Red ?
The morons wanted to be part of history, wanted to make history, ended up facing reality, which they realize isn’t so hip when there are no jobs to support themselves and their families.
“The morons wanted to be part of history,”
you know, I always wondered if I was the only one to see the irony, if that’s even the correct term, of the fact that it’s historical we voted for a black man for president to show color is no longer an issue, yet they all voted for him precisely because he was black.
The new counterculture.
Color is never an issue if the Magic Negros win, exceptions are made for Conservatives.
Revolutions have begun over lesser Border invasions - - - .
In the 90’s it was my opinion that because of abortion, the Democrats were increasingly having to rely on Illegal Aliens, Felons, and Dead People to get into office. Now more than EVER - ILLEGAL ALIENS. PASS AMNESTY NOW YOU EFFING RINOS AND KILL AMERICA WHY DON’T YOU!
Hey this is getting old say something new ok?
I second that. I’m so tired of hearing that retreaded rhetoric every time I come to FR.... Geesh; give it a rest.
The younger are growing up (whether they want to or not) and are getting smarter. The democrats have nothing more to offer except more of the same lies and excuses.
The democrats cannot sell the old “Bush is the blame for everything” forever and hide behind Political Correctness and racism to accomplish their agenda to destroy the greatness of America.
The benefactors of a great America were to have been the younger generations. Some are still waiting for a great ship that will never come into port. A few are starting to realize that the great ship has already sailed, and without them.
