Michael Sam the Sham
American Thinker ^ | 5-17-2014 | Edmund Wright

Posted on 05/17/2014 5:21:43 AM PDT by C. Edmund Wright

A funny thing happened on the way to Michael Sam just wanting to play football -- and on being judged by his performance on the field and not his sexual orientation. After all, we were told ad nauseam, by Sam and his promoters in the sports media, that this is what Sam is about. If you Google “Michael Sam just wants to play football,” some 67 million results pop up. He also flatly stated that he "wanted to stop talking about his sexual orientation" and "let (his) work on the field speak for itself” in a radio interview, among other places.

Yeah, right. Nothing says that quite like licking icing off the mouth of another dude on national TV. And I’m sure the new Oprah TV series will have nothing to do with sexual orientation either.

Put forth to Freep nation - I think it's worth the read. Biting, revealing, funny, and is proving prescient. Thoughts?

I am, however, fascinated by this massive ironic and teachable moment about our culture, our media, and the part of the gay community that chooses to be part of an aggressive political/cultural movement.

To me, it's like standing by and watch a cancer eat your own foot. It's not "fascinating" at all.

Everyone wanted to puke seeing that pervert licking cake from another man’s mouth....but they won’t say it because they are afraid of losing their jobs or being seen as some kind of backward kook.

Was at an event where Sam was discussed and one guy had the guts to tell it like it is...sick. One by one everyone looked at each other and seemed relieved they were not the only ones repulsed. It seemed everyone had been afraid to speak out. Sad.

I think you misunderstand…..part of the fascination is how this is imploding on itself….the cancer is being exposed. Step back, look at the big picture.

Disappointed to learn Sam's reality show is on the back burner. Was looking forward to the episode, "Decorating Sam's NFL Locker."

In the spirit of Martha Stewart's jail cell decorating contest:

Please use correct terms - not politically correct Orwellian newspeak

Homosexual....not gay

Sexual lifestyle choice...not “orientation”

Thanks for reading:
First of all, gay would not be an Orwellian term really - I use Orwell as a measuring stick a lot and this doesn’t fit - second of all - I am trying to reach people who do accept the term gay with the piece - and third, when I used orientation I was quoting Sam.

ESPN treated its football draft viewers as imbeciles when it tried to pass this embarrassment off as “spontaneous” when it had the cameras and cake at the ready to film the moment the First Homosexual would be drafted.

The anchors were panicking as the end of the draft was at hand and launched into a diatribe, berating the NFL for not choosing Sam. They were determined to have their Historical Moment in Football. Next year, they’ll probably have a transexual in drag.

Football used to be entertaining on its own, without the hype of the morons at ESPN.

In the lefty pecking order of the eternally oppressed, does a homosexual black male rank higher than both a white male Mathew Shepard homo as well as a Trayvon Martin like male black male???

Sometimes we need a USA Today top 25 like poll to determine which oppressed group of the week is in the top five at any given week.

I’m sorry you are so unhappy that you can’t just enjoy the humor, irony, sarcasm in the piece - not to mention the incredible prescience of the piece, and how it deconstructs and mocks the ESPN and Oprah mindset.

Or perhaps it is just over your head.

I am gratified that across the web, most are able to appreciate all of that.

“Over my head” - LOL! Typical Alinsky personal attack to avoid reality of this perverted & evil lifestyle choice.

Afraid to call homosexual lifestyle a choice is cowardly, at best, and demonstrates you kneel at leftist newspeak.

Now, is THAT over your RINO, pro-amnesty head, Waldo?

Sad thing is he used his sexual orientation to obtain a position n the NFL. This means that some straight dude got overlooked.

I think that person or other persons wanting to play in the NFL can sue. I am thinking Bakke vs California. This is clearly a case of affirmative action.

Nice work.

This whole ordeal reeks of White House collusion (ie., the police acted poorly and Treyvon could be his son). Obama, Oprah and the gay mafia agenda are exposed in one vulgar display of affection. His phone call to Sam the Sham sealed it for me.

Now the O’s are in a double bind. How do they back away from the crap storm headed their way without undermining the gay agenda? Answer is they can’t. Catch 22.

My 2 cents.

Those overlooked by the 7th round of the NFL draft probably have an easier time than a 7th round pick. That free agent player can single out a team that has a need that he more closely matches

Drafting is a claim of first-refusal. A drafted player can’t try out for another team until the drafting team gives the OK for him to leave.

No one is denied an opportunity if he has even minimal talent.

Sam's boy toy Vito formerly dated a gay male porn star and is the son/grandson of racketeeers and mobsters. Vito was on the swim team at Missouri where apparently he and Sam met. From all accounts I've seen they have dated for a "few months", which coincides with Sam's coming out pre-draft.

Vito is just using and exploiting Sam like everyone else around the guy. Maybe Sam is using everyone too, but if he isn't he needs to wake up fast and ditch all these hucksters around him.

The NFL is going to end up losing a lot of viewers with this garbage. Parents with kids won’t have any games on if the NFL is going to push homosexuality as normal and something to be celebrated. My kids are mostly grown and know right from wrong and have already written off pro football. That is future customers for the NFL. Good job there suits. They are compromising their future business for a second rate player all because they want to be seen as tolerant. Well, ok then. Karma will be a female Rottweiler on this one.

It was revealed that he agreed to the ‘reality’ show taping a while before the draft.

That indicates that the ‘kiss and cake’ was a set up and not a spontaneous action.

The so-called ‘reality’ shows are anything but. They may not be scripted but they are heavily edited and ‘events’ are reenacted until they get good video.
