I was watching BBC coverage of the landslide election in India.

The BBC reporters (left leaning, in my opinion)were manifesting concern that the winner would be “divisive” if he represented the members of his party.

Got that? The guy just won in a landslide but BBC says he will divisive if he represents the voters.

This is what we need. Representatives of people. It is what the original Tea Party was about.

Instead the political system has been corrupted by global corporations wanting ever cheaper labor and outside the USA interests that have no business in our pocketbooks and government.

Here is her YouTube commercial.

BLAIR, WHICH PROJECT?

Hello, I am Saira Blair and I am asking for your vote. I have several projects for our state that are important to me, including advancing pro-life, pro-gun, pro-family, pro-business, and pro-jobs agendas. Please tell me which project or projects are important to you. I promise to listen to you and work for you as diligently as I possibly can.

17-Yr-Old Girl Who Wants to Actually Represent the People Just Unseated a Politician in W. Virginia,

If she is too young to vote, how is it that she can legally hold office?

“She’s thinking about how to defeat Democrat Layne...”

Use what Democrat’s fear most - the truth.

They left some things out that are rather important. She's a Republican and that's the party line and daddy is a State Senator.

Sorry...get college under your belt then go for it.

The opponent obviously was lazy if he lost to a 17 year old as an incumbent. Blair obviously had campaign experience from her dad's campaign.

Hopefully her dad's a very good state senator, because I'll bet $100 that she's going to follow in his footsteps and vote nearly identical with a few differences since they aren't the same person. When she's getting pressure from interest groups, who do you think she's going to ask for help? Her staffers will probably be his people as well.

I'm looking forward to seeing Sarah Palin's recommendation for this young lady.

Palin has quite-honorable contacts throughout America, and I'm sure she'll hear from them.

I hope all West Virginians will rally around her! Obama lied and the Coal Industry died!

Congrats to this courageous young lady!

Quite the brave young lady. Another Lady Thatcher, perhaps.

Abraham Lincoln was only 23 when he ran for office but his campaign was one of modesty and simplicity. He did not claim to have all the answers but showed an earnestness that appealed to the voters. He lost the election but won something like 97% of the vote in his home precinct. How can somebody not like a young person who speaks as honestly as the passage quoted below:

But, Fellow-Citizens, I shall conclude.--Considering the great degree of modesty which should always attend youth, it is probable I have already been more presuming than becomes me. However, upon the subjects of which I have treated, I have spoken as I thought. I may be wrong in regard to any or all of them; but holding it a sound maxim, that it is better to be only sometimes right, than at all times wrong, so soon as I discover my opinions to be erroneous, I shall be ready to renounce them.

Check out the text of Lincoln's very first political announcement here. Not bad for somebody who grew up in a log cabin and had very little formal education. Just goes to show that "home schooling" can be superior to our other forms of education.

As for this college talk, I believe Scot Walker did not go to college or at least get a degree as well. Something to read up on.
