Holder, confronting issue of race once more, says ‘subtle’ threats to equality ‘cut deeper’

In a pointed and at times personal speech, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. on Saturday morning argued that America’s struggle for racial equality has become defined less by expressions of outright bigotry than by policies that subtly but systematically impede equal opportunity.

Speaking during the commencement ceremony at Morgan State University, a historically black college in Baltimore, Holder referred obliquely to a series of racially charged episodes that have “received substantial media coverage” in recent weeks — an apparent reference to the controversial comments made by Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling and Nevada cattle rancher Cliven Bundy. But Holder also said that the “outlandish statements that capture national attention” obscure a more troubling reality.

“These outbursts of bigotry, while deplorable, are not the true markers of the struggle that still must be waged, or the work that still needs to be done,” he said.

“The greatest threats,” he said, “are more subtle. They cut deeper. And their terrible impact endures long after the headlines have faded and obvious, ignorant expressions of hatred have been marginalized.”

The comments were Holder’s most extensive on the subject of race since early 2009, when he gave a speech during Black History Month that generated controversy and reportedly infuriated President Obama’s chief of staff at the time, Rahm Emanuel....

MTV, CAIR, the ACLU, SPLC and others are starting some kind program to teach young people to recognize “the hidden racism” around them. Sounds like Holder is on board.

Karl Marx had a different idea of social justice than Thomas Jefferson. This entire administration is on the wrong side of common sense. I absolutely loathe everything they stand for.

So Holder is saying that when you don't see any evidence of racism, that is the most egregious racism of all?

How can he lose with logic like that?

In archeology, they say that absence of proof is not proof of absence. With Holder, absence of proof is proof of guilt?

Basically Holder’s saying the more people cower in the face of his kind of racialist mau-mauing, the harder the racialists should mau-mau them.

I'm sorry but I have to laugh. The same weekend that Michelle says there's a problem with de-segregation, Holder speaks at a segregated-by-tradition black college. Both are busy brainwashing students they are held back by a great white conspiracy. The double-standard being shown is just beyond any response other than incredulous laughter.

Subtle racism requires a subtle mind discern and requires even greater subtly to remedy .

Such subtle minds are few and far between and reside in the rare and noble personages of men named Al Sharpton, Jessse Jackson, Eric Holder, Elijah Cummings and Bill Clinton.

Men of such gifts certainly deserve substantial remuneration for their quest to right such wrongs - the more subtle the racism the more the more difficult difficult it is to recognize and eradicate , justifying greater and greater sums of remuneration as the racism becomes ever more subtle

“More work needs to be done”. Like separate lunch counters, drinking fountains methinks is the kind of work he has in mind.
