Of all the self-serving tripe…
Guess what. The president of the United States is “madder than hell” about the Veterans Administration scandal. That’s the word from White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough.
Funny…VA Secretary Eric Shineski said almost the exact same thing last week when testifying before Congress when he said, “Any allegation, any adverse incident like this makes me mad as hell.”
I suppose they could have channeled Howard Beale completely and added, “And I’m not going to take it anymore.”
Perfect — the administration taking its defense cues from a fictional nutcase TV anchor. Except this administration has an abundance of patience and forbearance when it comes to the incompetence and stupidity of its members — president included. So you have to wonder where their breaking point truly is.
President Barack Obama is “madder than hell” about the Veterans Affairs scandal, White House chief of staff Denis McDonough says.
The president is madder than hell, and Ive got the scars to prove it, given the briefings Ive given the president,” he said in an interview with CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett that aired Sunday on “Face the Nation.”
“Nobody is more outraged about this problem, right now, Major, than the president of the United States,” McDonough added.
McDonough’s comments echoed VA Secretary Eric Shinseki’s statement at last week’s Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee hearing, when the secretary said he was “mad as hell” about the reports.
Shinseki and the Obama administration have come under fire for reports that at least 40 veterans died while waiting for care in the Phoenix VA system. Several lawmakers, as well as The American Legion, a top veterans advocacy group, have called on Shinseki to resign.
Asked about the secretary’s performance at the Senate hearing last week, McDonough said: We dont score testimony on Capitol Hill or otherwise. What we score is results that results to the services and benefits that our vets have earned.
Undersecretary of Health Robert Petzel, who testified with Shinseki at the hearing, stepped down on Friday.
McDonough, as he has in earlier interviews, touted the administration’s commitment to veterans and its “historic increase” in benefits for veterans.
The presidents demanding that we get to the bottom of the exact allegations that you’re talking about as it relates to whether veterans are getting the timely access to care that they have earned,” McDonough said, adding that as soon as the reports came out, he reached out to Shinseki to ensure the department had accountability measures in place to handle the problem.
“Nobody is more outraged about the problem…” than Obama? Oh really? The president is more outraged than the families of the 100 vets who died waiting for treatment because the VA was trying to cover up its mismanagement?
I’m sure the loved ones of the dead appreciate the president’s anger. Too bad Obama couldn’t get worked up about the unacceptable care at VA hospitals prior to it becoming a scandal.
More than Benghazi or even the IRS scandals, this has the potential to seriously damage the president and his administration. The VA’s actions have angered both Democrats and Republicans, so the administration can’t claim it’s a partisan witch hunt. There are also documents that prove the coverup, willing witnesses who are eager to tell their story, and the politically explosive charge that the Commander in Chief doesn’t care about those who served.
No way the press can bury this scandal or turn it into a partisan circus. For the first time in his presidency, Obama faces a scandal without his party to back him up or the press to run interference for him.
It’s going to be a long summer for Obama.
Does anyone believe that?
The idea is to do something about it.
I believe he is quite mad about the allegations. The problem with the VA hospitals is another matter.
If the Fuhrer knew he wouldn't have let it happen.
He will tweet something soon!
Only because it adds to the growing recognition that odumbo couldn’t manage a hot dog stand. It’s always all about him.
Only because of its implications on the upcoming election in November 2014.
Normally non-participating and non-partisan veterans that have not been paying much attention to the antics of the Current Regime will be awakened, and show up at the polls in unprecedented numbers.
The T.E.A. party has a new resource at its disposal - the ire of these now forgotten veterans. The GOP has a huge opportunity to harness that new-found resource - if they dare.
at least it’s not
#im madder than a wet hen
or, maybe he is.
The Limbaugh Principle lives. Ubama is an outsider. He has nothing to do with what goes on in Washington. He is as outraged as we are.
“Obama is Madder than Hell about VA Scandal”
Spare us the drama McDonough, your words don’t even approach believability.
Hemingway got into trouble for this one in 1935.
zer0 could care less about Our Veterans.
Just like Active Duty.
P.O.S. kenyan commie pig
He’s mad the rest of America doesn’t have VA care.
Pray America wakes up
There, all VA problems are now solved.
No, he’s not mad yet, but anything that interferes with his dismantling of America will make him mad at some point. This could do that.
Reminds me of an old Carson joke. “Carter campaigned on the meme that he knew nothing about Washimgton and he was right.”
OTOH, Barry could be mad because the VA revealed death panels before Ocare got fully implemented.
The first thing is to figure out exactly what it is that he’s mad about(that somebody got caught?)& then if he’s mad enough to actually do some thing effective about it.
Yeah, we’re being told he’s hoppin’ mad, but, where’s he showing us publicly? My guess is his golf game is off so they surmise the VA scandal is to blame.
He’s mad as hell, in that it was found before 2017.
“Does anyone believe that?”
He is mad that the allegations were made public!
The “madder than hell” is part of the script. It is the same old Bull-script we have been fed all along with the Obama Regime. If we get Hill and Bill, we will be fed Bull-script times two. The teleprompter will go up in flames.
“Does anyone believe that?”
Like any other scum bag politician, he’s mad as hell that he got caught.
Hemingway ended “Who Murdered the Vets?” with the final questions, “Who left you there? And what’s the punishment for manslaughter now?” The first question was officially answered privately behind the closed doors of politicians. The second went unanswered. No person was ever formally charged with the neglect of the veterans. But one result of the tragedy was that the public began to demand that in the future government leaders had to be careful not to be careless with other peoples’ lives. - See more at: http://hnn.us/article/16158#sthash.4SLkwy2H.dpuf
And is doing WHAT? The road to Hell is paved with good intentions .but nothing ever happens to address the scandals piling up in the wreckage of Obama’s administration.
(No, I don't, but someone must believe it, otherwise he wouldn't keep saying it. He's said it about every single scandal in his administration. It's like when Saul kept telling David he wouldn't hunt David down anymore, and then kept on doing it.
An expression like “madder than hell” might work as a more or less spontaneous outburst but not as a talking point. Sounds too contrived and therefore smacks of insincerity.
Yeah, Obama’s mad alright....
Jaz, check out posts #12 and #25. The links are worth reading.
You see what they're 'madder than hell' about and their process for going about "addressing it."
They're mad that they're having to deal with these allegations, not that care of vets on their watch has resulted in some many unnecessary deaths. If they were interested in vets' health, they'd go over the procedures for getting vets timely care, but no! They're all and only about closely reviewing the allegations with which they themselves have been (so appropriately) charged!
I hope Petzel is able to say his vet-abusing priorities came from VJ, in the name of the Office of the President.
When you look at VA Secretary Eric Shinseki saying before the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee that hes mad as hell, they were empty words as from a script. Now, Zer0 is talking the words. In fact, Zer0’s “mad as hell” rhetoric has blown Shinseki’s words off the web. Now Zer0 is taking claim of the words to deflect the full blame of his inept ideological leadership.
The Sixties mindset was a pipe dream that has come to roost because of a clown in the White House.
Because it came to light.
He was madder than hell about the IRS scandal too; in so many words he vowed to get to the bottom of it; that is, until he decided there wasn’t a smidgin of corruption connected with it. And then there was the promise to bring to justice those responsible for Benghazi.
Just like he was mad about:
The IRS scandal
The NSA scandal
The Obamacare website
Fast and Furious
and on and on and on....
Yeah...right. Where is the "damage" going to come from? The repubies? Yeah...right.
One wonders if he stamped his feet as he declared his God-like anger?
I think he is mad that there is a scandal. Does he give half a flip about veterans? Of course not.
Is Zero going to apologize publicly and accept responsiblity? Not likely.
Perhaps Obama will express his intense outrage a Holiday address next weekend when he again speaks to many of our “fallen heroes” in the audience....
Like most Americans, I was greatly disturbed when I learned about the situation involving _______ . I was totally unaware of the problem, and only learned of it this past ____ when it was brought to my attention by ______. This situation is totally unacceptable, therefore, I have directed _________ to conduct a complete and thorough investigation of the matter. I must emphasize, however, that despite the seriousness of these allegations, I continue to have complete confidence in Secretary _______ . These unacceptable actions are isolated incidents, carried out by a handful of employees at _______ and should in no way reflect negatively on the vast majority of dedicated and hardworking members of __________. Let me assure you that I am just as outraged as anybody, and I intend to get to the bottom of this.
Look for Mootch holding cardboard sign and sad pouty lips.
When mentored in Chicago, “The buck stops here” has a different meaning.
This was issued while Obama was playing golf with the top 1% at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainsville, VA.
“Madder than hell” that all the PR work the left has done the past number of weeks has been shot to $hit.
THAT I believe...
Your form is much like what I get from my U.S. Senator and Congressman. They care less about any feedback from the citizen. They are too busy fundraising.
Zer0: Benghazi? Is that something to relieve the pain in the ass? Go get me some. Gotta fund raise tomorrow. Don’t talk to me any more about Benghazi. I got to get some sleep.”
Thanks for the heads up to the two articles, they are well worth reading.
That’s a most powerful account by Hemingway and exactly on the mark. He should have gotten a medal for it instead of being admonished but I don’t believe he cared, he accomplished what he set out to do.
Sadly there are still some people in charge that don’t get it and this current administration is loaded with them.
Thank you both for the links.
Only that they got caught, killing vets off
