Two things (finally) ended the Great Depression...

1. World War I I

2. The death of FDR.

I gave up. Tried for six years and realized was futility. Thank God, I put a plan into operation prior to 2008. Played to become ready for six years and just barely made the deadline but my deadline didn’t play out as had wished even though tried to get to that deadline. It was futility but having done my best for over forty years ... I surrender. Better Half is not far behind me. Plan was her first but I failed.

I’m sure something could be reworked to be more current.

Pinging the usual suspects - err, people with great talent for such things.

Well, there’s a jackass pulling the cart, so, at least that’s current.

The real cause of the recovery was the republicans took over the government and repealed a bunch of restrictive FDR new deal crap.

Take a look at the guy beating the donkey.
It is supposed to be Rex Tugwell, one of FDR's "Brain Trust".
But darned if it doesn't bear a striking resemblance to King Obama.

Do they realize this is a bit of irony, published in the Chicago Tribune?

What with Barry and Rahm, that is.

The Obamanation formula for the successful financial “Fundamental Transformation of the United States of America” can be defined, in part, as follows:

Mc + Vf = Sg

Where:

* Mc = Marxist Communism, defined by Englishman Intellectual Karl Marx as: “FROM EACH ACCORDING TO HIS ABILITY, TO EACH ACCORDING TO HIS NEED.”

* Vf = Volker Failure threshold of permanent financial failure as defined by Economist Intellectual Paul Volker: “The Federally Regulated stimulation of financial debt, Private, State, or Federal, until that financial debt exceeds what can be recovered in a court-managed bankruptcy.”

* Sg = Single Government, which is the system were everybody must pay a single Government entity, historically it has been an oppressive Dictator.

Without over FOUR years of consistent refusal by Doormat Republicans, such as Boehner and Cantor, to enforce the Constitutional House Checks and Balances, Obama would have been far less successful.

FORWARD TOWARD THE BOTTOM !

Yes they have. Things have changed 180 degrees.

Now the media fully support and promote atheistic Marxism.

When this cartoon was published, the media was opposed........

Yep. You’d have to spell it out carefully. Most dems think Trotsky is something you get when you eat too many bean burritos.

More proof that history is in a dead loop..

The liberals went to great lengths to blame the emerging modern conservative movement for the assassination of JFK.. and we were pointing out Oswald's connections to communists.. that alarmed the Establishment. Guess which side the Establishment sided with. Just like today.

Oh how history just keeps looping.. top portion from an Internet source.

"Oswald’s role as a lightning rod to draw the public’s bolts of wrath upon the heads of the Left was meeting with success, so much so that responsible figures in the Washington Establishment were becoming alarmed lest a tidal wave of neo–McCarthyism sweep the nation. James Reston reported in the New York Times on November 26, 1963 that 'one of the things President Johnson is said to be concerned about is that the pro–Communist background of Lee Oswald, the man who is accused by the Dallas police of assassinating President Kennedy, may lead in some places to another Communist hunt that will divide the country and complicate the new President’s relations with Moscow.'"

repeat loop today

"Hasan’s role as a lightning rod to draw the public’s bolts of wrath upon the heads of the Islamists was meeting with success, so much so that responsible figures in the Washington Establishment were becoming alarmed lest a tidal wave of anti-Muslims sweep the nation. The NY Times reported on November 26, 2009 that 'one of the things President Obama is said to be concerned about is that the pro–Islamist background of Nidal Hasan, the man who is accused by the Fort Hood police of assassinating military men and women, may lead in some places to another witch hunt that will divide the country and complicate the new President’s relations with the Middle East.'"

Declaring a dictatorship wasn't far from the mark. Speaker of the House, John W. McCormack, confirmed that

"In peace or war [Marine General Smedley Darlington Butler] was one of the outstanding Americans in our history. I can't emphasize too strongly the very important part he played in exposing the Fascist plot in the early 1930's backed by and planned by persons possessing tremendous wealth."

Thanks for the link. I have not read the book but a glance at the pages and comments on the Internet seem to me to be describing a plot (ongoing but exposed early in FDR Administration) by "bankers" to overthrow the government. There was an attempt to involve the Bonus Army of angry W.W.I vets in the plot.

(All that when they just had to get one of the bankers appointed Sec. of the Treasury. Go figure. Another example of history repeating. Today the bankers won.)

Another example of a history loop that I fear could begin shortly is for BHO to copy FDR.

The Great Sedition Trial of 1944.. the purpose of the Great Sedition Trial of 1944 was to destroy Roosevelt's pre-war critics as attention turned to post-war matters particularly about relations with communists. IMO.

The Great Sedition Trial of 1944

FDR started with small fry and planned to move up the chain of opposition.

FDR failed. Obama might succeed, the Establishment today is arguably aging 1960s New Left Marxist-Alinsky radical, campus psycho spoiled brats and their ideological issue. The Establishment in FDR's days were Americans who eventually stopped:

". . . one of the blackest marks on the record of American jurisprudence. In the legal world, none can recall a case where so many Americans were brought to trial for political persecution and were so arrogantly denied the rights [guaranteed] an American citizen under the Constitution.”

Speaking of the Chicago Tribune, the cartoon, and also the Great Sedition Trial of 1944 FDR definitely wanted to destroy the publisher of the Tribune Col. Robert McCormick. If the trials worked to destroy the “little people” the big guys were next.
