People just can't get enough of the idea of a World Dictatorship. They'll get their self-opposing wish for misery and oppression soon enough. But as the line in the movie, Gladiator, goes, "But not yet."

Salt does not cause obesity OR heart disease.
Fat (saturated or unsaturated) does not cause heart disease.
Like Michelle Soetoro, these Fascists are trying to make all of us live by totally exploded dietary theories.

Though this is a BBC story, in a related piece, Ann Barnhardt just posted on Twitter that the USDA got 40 cal sub machine guns with 30 round clips. Guess they will get serious with enforcement of the food laws.

another line from that movie is also appropriate for these people:
“the time for honoring yourself will soon be at an end”

Dr. Tim Lobstein at the World Obesity Federation said: If obesity was an infectious disease, we would have seen billions of dollars being invested in bringing it under control, but because obesity is largely caused by the overconsumption of fatty and sugary foods, we have seen policy-makers unwilling to take on the corporate interests who promote these foods. He said governments needed to take collective action.
That jumps far past merely crazy to openly evil. Never mind openly mendacious.

reducing the levels of salt, saturated fat and sugar in foodI'm in favor of education so that we can all voluntarily reduce our intake of these harmful substances. The government should not compel us to do so, however.
The issue is not whether sodium, saturated fat and various sugars are harmful; they are. The issue is the proper role of government, in this case none.
