100 Black Pastors: Gay Rights Don't Compare to Civil Rights...
Gospel Herald ^ | 5/13/14 | By Leah Marianne Klett

Detroit Black Pastors are speaking out against Judge Bernard Friedman's overruling of the 2004 voter approved amendment to the Michigan Constitution that defines marriages as between one man and one woman.

Despite the votes of 2.7 million voters who voted in favor of marriage protection, Friedman called the amendment "unconstitutional" and "irrational."

Pray that a spirit of revival quickens the heart of more black pastors and Christians, that they see their political leaders are leading them down an ungodly road.

Blacks don’t want any interlopers trying to cash in on their franchised victimhood.

Maybe they are trying to hide that so many of their men are on the down low.

Did they call out Obama back in 2012 when he said he evolved on the issue?

The whole Christian community needs to stand up and make their voices heard. What seems to be happening is that because their is little complaint within the church, many pastors are feeling like they can join the call for tolerance of homosexuals in the church. WHile they are welcome to come in to hear the word and seek discipleship, they should NEVER be given membership or ministry opportunities within the church until they have repented and cease the lifestyle. While some may feel that they are attracted to the same sex and not the opposite, once they participate in that, they are the same as any other sexual sin...it is all sin. Sexual sin is a defilement of our bodies that were created in the image of God. There is no way to make that “good”. God will never accept this blasphemy in His True Church. Scripture is clear. All sexual deviants and any who practice immorality will not enter Heaven unless they repent of their lifestyle. Repent means to turn from it, not just to confess it and go on sinning.

Granted this is a turf thing but I’ll take it.

If we can eliminate one grievance group its a good thing and we might even be able to make some inroads with blacks.

The truth is many blacks despise homosexuality. Haven’t you noticed all of the people coming to Michael Sam’s defense in his NFL chase are all white? Yes, blacks will still give the Democratic Party their typical 90% of their vote, but on this issue they will deviate from the leftist manual.

Bull crap. There is a very legitimate argument for separating true civil rights from fake victimization.

Just a few days ago, black city council members in Ypsilanti Michigan shut down a resolution to join a lawsuit against the Governor and Attorney General over their opposition to gay marriage.

I disagree, IM. These pastors are saying what needs to be said, and that is that there is no comparison between an immutable, natural characteristic and a choice about who you have sex with.

In other news, I've decided to come out as black. It will stun my parents, but I'm doing it anyway.

"...Judge Bernard Friedman's overruling of the 2004 voter approved amendment to the Michigan Constitution that defines marriages as between one man and one woman."

When are Judges going to get impeached for their insane rulings? Impeachment was intended to be used rather frequently and not as a random lightening bolt. The GOP does not fight. Sorry. Thems the facts.

Stop using political leaders as an excuse to go against what the Bible teaches. You won’t hear these black preachers say anything about the so called single mother victimhood. Where do you think these victims get the money to put in the offering plates?

Democrats work on use. You were useful. Now you’re not. The next group is morr useful. Join or not, your votes aren’t needed anymore.

Just like the DNC courted racists till they weren’t needed. They courted Catholics till they weren’t needed. They courted working class folks till they weren’t needed.

The DNC is hired guns and hookers. Don’t expect moral consistency.

Would it be inaccurate to say the black “priesthood/pastorhood/reverend biz” has been a very large failure for blacks???...73% bastardy rate???
Or do we just blame the 60 yr old War On Poverty for not spending enuf trillions?....

Nothing makes democrats happier than the clowns on this board who turn an ally away because he lacks the purest of motives.

I don’t care if their long term goal is different than mine as long as the short term goal is the same.

Besides, what better way to make inroads into their community with our ideas.

What do they care? They've enabled the liberal monster for generations and there's no line they haven't been willing to cross up till now. They'll cross this one as well.

This is all sound and fury signifying nothing. Come election day they'll pull the "D" lever and we'll all get more of the same.

That's mean. There are many blacks (and whites) alive tody who grew up under the shame of segregation. I guess you'd have to have experienced it to know how ugly it was.

re: Pray that a spirit of revival quickens the heart of more black pastors and Christians, that they see their political leaders are leading them down an ungodly road.

The Obama presidency has caused harm in innumerable ways to our culture, our economy, our international policies and status in the world, and our freedoms as American citizens. It has also harmed race relations. I find that I have a very difficult time respecting the majority of my Black Christian brothers and sisters who place their support of Obama and his agenda before their support of biblical values. I have been continually astounded that most Black Christians in America can not see the obvious facts before their eyes. They only see skin pigment, and that trumps everything - even their faith in God. Any criticism of Obama or discussion of his policies inevitably leads them to the conclusion that the criticism is unjust and racially motivated.

I see it as an immense spiritual blindness. And I have difficulty respecting the sermons from black ministers who are blind to Obama’s destruction of America and who actively give their support to Obama no matter what he does.

God bless these 100 black pastors for their stand! May they grow and make an impact in their communities. But they are just “a drop in the bucket”. For every one of them there are a thousand black pastors in our country who see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil concerning their black Messiah. And the flocks that they shepherd continue in their devotion to the false god they continue to honor.

Yes, we blame the war on poverty, for not spending enough.

The liberal view is that if we just spent more money, had more social programs, more educational programs, that the problems of poverty would disappear.

It seems to me that, when you see all this gang activity, all this baby mama stuff going on, that no amount of spending will solve the problems of such people’s behaviors which get them in trouble. But I’m not liberal, so what do I know.

As angry as some seem to be about blacks, I am absolutely ashamed of the behavior of whites in this gay marriage issue. One group of people is speaking out on the subject, yet here where they should be supported, I’m hearing “who cares about that, they are wrong on ...” Yet not a word about all the white pastors who are saying nothing about gay marriage. Are they more concerned about losing their fat tax exemptions? Not a word from all the football players, coaches, owners about this mess with the Rams. Only one black player speaks out and he’s sent to re-education camp.

Whites may have guilt over their past treatment of blacks but the gays have them completely cowed. I don’t understand why. I hear that we have to give up the fight because it’s already lost. I have words for the cowardly people who say such things and they are not very Christian so I’ll be keeping those words between me and the Lord.

I think it’s time people woke up and looked at reality. Blacks make up maybe 12 to 15 percent, at most, of the population. Whites are a much larger percentage of the population and if they were as willing to fight for marriage as the blacks, there would not be gay marriage. So who is really responsible for this mess? And why won’t they lift a finger to stop it?

Same reason the RATs coddle the moslems....fear of the queer mafia.

The politics of fear.
