The oldest is 7 and he is going to get into the junior riffle program at my gun club this fall when he becomes 8. The others are three and one.

I was instructed on gun safety when I was in boy scouts in the 80’s and the lessons have stuck with me for thirty years.

The real problem is they are all into everything. Even the one year old has the ability to get into high cupboards as he has watched his stealthy twin brothers do so his whole life. I have actually caught the one year old on the counter foot on the first shelf going up. Leaving a gun in a high place is out of the question. A lock box is the only alternative.

This is something you say just before you bug out. You definitely do not want to be in the middle of a gun battle between “the Baxters and the Rojos”, or in this case, between the gang bangers and the cops.

Can you fit an 870 in that?

Well... um... no.
Heh.
But a full size 1911 with extended magazine and Streamlight TLR-1s fits quite nicely.

Ever notice how ALL Security company ads on TV show the guy breaking in as WHITE?

If the ‘teens’ breaking into this home had been white it would have been in the first paragraph... We need to call the press on their lies and disinformation.

One more American lie pushed out by liberal elites - with the help of Jason Law and Tom McKee ... Shame on them and their double standard.

If this had been white teenagers terrorizing a black family for six months and burning a cross on their lawn it would have been more than local news. But you see, this wasn't racist or anti-white. It was anti-snitch, so that's okay.

Where's Holder and Sham-ton? Where's NBC and their hysterical reporters?

“A couple of bullets through the door while it’s being kicked might have done the deal.”

And they'll make that looter the next St. Trayvon.

“He's a good boy, good student and aspiring rapper. He was just at the door asking for directions and was discriminated against by the white devil.”

Crazy times we live in...

It's not just the security companies. The insurance companies do likewise. Notice it's always the white guy who hits the black guy's car or cuts the branch that falls on the black guy's car.

With almost no exclusion - ever - it goes like this: The white guy is the idiot. The woman is the wise one. The black is the trendsetting/hip or innocent one.

By the way, I always get a kick out of seeing a prison in any Hollywood depiction. Just look at the racial mix depicted. Compared with statistical data, the depiction is absurd.

"The Amazing Spiderman" had an amazing number of white street criminals.

Write these companies and complain. If they can't hear us - blacklist them... I don't think this bias against white middle class men is an accident. It's intentional...

Yeah I had every thing on prison lock down for years, sounds like you are in the same boat for the foreseeable future. Good luck.

Killers breaking in to your house? Call 911.

Oh. She did.

“To Protect and Serve.”

...when we get around to it.

"I have a 4595TS. Larger rounds, more effective, same low price. Magazine holds only 1 round fewer."

Yup, I could live with one of those, just happen to have the 9mm

"The problem is that with guns in the home, particularly a home with children (young, male children in particular), you have to lock up the guns."

Why? Keep the clip in your pocket, without ammo any gun is nothing but a club.

"Mine isn’t reliable, sometimes the trigger won’t reset. It is a fun gun to shoot but I wouldn’t rely on it as my primary home defense weapon."

Send it back they warranty forever. Don't even have to be the first owner.

My biggest concern is that it started malfunctioning after about 100 rounds. If it was broken out of the box I would mark it down to a problem in manufacturing, the fact it worked for a while makes me concerned about a problem with engineering or materials. If it was put together incorrectly, it is fixable, if it is an engineering or material problem it’s just a matter of time before it happens again. Thus my worry about using it as a primary defense weapon.

I have an old beater Mossberg pump that has been mistreated by myself for the last 30 years and I bought it used. Never a hiccup.

Don’t cost nothing to give them a call and ask them. Might just give you a new gun.
