Appearing Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Ben Carson stood by an earlier comment he made about Obamacare being the worst thing since slavery.
Speaking at the Values Voter Summit in October, the retired neurosurgeon said the Affordable Care Act is “the worst thing that has happened in this nation since slavery.”
“And it is in a way,” he said then. “It is slavery in a way, because it is making all of us subservient to the government, and it was never about health care. It was about control.”
Host David Gregory ran a clip of the comment, then put Carson on the spot.

“First, recognize what I said,” Carson replied. “The worst thing since slavery. I didn’t say it was slavery.”
“You said it is slavery in a way,” Gregory chimed in, reading Carson’s quote back to him.
“In a way anything is slavery that robs you of control of running your own life,” Carson answered, showing a verbal fluency that rivals the great orator of the left, Barack Obama. ”And, when you take the most important thing you have, which is your health care, and you put that in the hands of government bureaucrats, I think you have done the wrong thing.”
Carson made reference to “neo-Marxist literature,” which had the assembled panel’s full attention.
“You go back and look at the neo-Marxist literature and look at what they say, you don’t have to look at what I say, about taking control of the health care of a populace and making the people dependent,” he said. “This is not what America is about.”

I know Dr. Carson isn’t a conservative on many issues dear to us, but on certain issues, he is spot on. I believe this is one of them.
I read his book, and there were a few flags that made me question some aspects of his conservatism, but I respect him and his work in Medicine.
David Gregory therefore, since he is questioning a black man, is a racist.
"I have an opinion on gun control that differs with many Republicans. However, this opinion is not a motivating passion for me. My motivating passions are liberty, small government, individual responsibility, etc.. I would promise to shelve my opinions on gun control for the duration of my term in office so that I can focus on my passions and return this country to it's once free state."
What is his stance on gun control?
Nay, by next week, Dr.Carson will just be an uncle tom, a porch nagger, a step-n-fetch it, and the Surgeon General will rescind his Medical degrees.

I wish he'd been able to school Gregory by offering a coherent alternative to Obamacare. From what I've seen of his quotes he doesn't have one.

Give them time. The NY Times already has scores of reporters furiously at work doing opposition research on him, you can be sure. The man must be destroyed before primary season, and Gregory has apparently volunteered to be the tip of the spear.
You need to look a little harder past your bias. He has made a number of points on numerous appearances on Fox.
Secondly, and forgive me if we've discussed this before, as I think we have; so if we have, pay attention this time: it is too early in the election cycle to trot out detailed plans by someone who is not even a candidate yet. All it will do is give the left more time to demonize those plans and float extraordinary lies about those plans, just as they did to Palin and Romney.
Who better to help form a team to craft a better plan than a man who was department head of one of the most difficult medical specialties in the foremost hospital chain in the nation? He is being strategic to hold his cards close to the chest until the proper time.

He is the kind of guy that even if I didn’t agree with even 50% of what his positions were I could feel good voting for him because from all I have seen of him he appears very thoughtful and would actually listen and consider.
I got the same vibe from Senator Lieberman a bit when he was running for VP even though he was a democrat at the time. Probably WHY he had to become an independent.
We're not going to get perfection. But he is a person of excellent intellect and quality. I have had the honor of meeting him twice, and his family members. I would prefer him over just about anyone else out there, with few exceptions -- and certainly over any Democrat of any description.

He has, on FOX and other places. But I'm looking at coherent solutions. He's all over the board and some of his suggestions are down right stupid.

Great to have someone who can quickly, and simply expose them for what they are.
They live with the cloak of intellectualism draped about their shoulders, but when one who actually possesses true intellect confronts them , they don’t know what to do.
I saw or rather heard him speak in person. I don’t think he really debates...... he kills
His style is to rub the enemy on the back, make him comfortable and then complacent. He then takes any one of many verbal stilettos that are so thin and sharp that the victim doesn’t even feel the blade inside him until it is twisted and the blood begins to issue
Dr Carson is absolutely devastating.
