The Obama administration received clear notice more than five years ago that VA medical facilities were reporting inaccurate waiting times and experiencing scheduling failures that threatened to deny veterans timely health care — problems that have turned into a growing scandal.
Veterans Affairs officials warned the Obama-Biden transition team in the weeks after the 2008 presidential election that the department shouldn’t trust the wait times that its facilities were reporting.
“This is not only a data integrity issue in which [Veterans Health Administration] reports unreliable performance data; it affects quality of care by delaying — and potentially denying — deserving veterans timely care,” the officials wrote.
The briefing materials, obtained by The Washington Times through the Freedom of Information Act, make clear that the problems existed well before Mr. Obama took office, dating back at least to the Bush administration. But the materials raise questions about what actions the department took since 2009 to remedy the problems.
In recent months, reports have surfaced about secret wait lists at facilities across the country and, in the case of a Phoenix VA facility, accusations that officials cooked the books to try to hide long wait times. Some families said veterans died while on a secret wait list at the Phoenix facility.

Not only has the Obama administration waged war on our veterans through the VA Scandal, now there is whole new front of attack on our veterans we have to worry about.
In a terrifying news report on the militarization of our police forces – watch as a veteran officer of the Indiana police remarks that police are having to prepare for returning veterans with the ability to make IED’s (Improvised Explosive Devices).
That’s right. One of the reasons our police forces are giving for having to become more like military forces is the soldiers returning home from the front.
It’s scary watching our police forces become militarized… but it’s even scarier to hear some of their reasons for doing so. Crime, including violent crime, has been dropping across the country over the last 30 years, yet somehow this police officer believes that crime has gotten worse since he’s become a cop?
It’s reasoning just like his that is militarizing our police… and it’s a dangerous precedent to set.
So while local police forces all over the country are militarizing - the President of the United States is simultaneously pushing hard to take guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens… because “weapons of war don’t belong on our streets.”
In fact, while the President and the Pentagon pour these powerful military weapons onto our streets, they are demanding that we turn in weapons that are much weaker by contrast. Interestingly, the President seems to believe that our semi-automatic rifles have no place on the street, but he has no problem when local police forces get much stronger and deadlier weapons to use against us.
We shouldn’t stop there. We should restore the ban on military-style assault weapons and a 10-round limit for magazines. And that deserves a vote in Congress — because weapons of war have no place on our streets, or in our schools, or threatening our law enforcement officers. Our law enforcement officers should never be out-gunned on the streets.
Our founders endlessly debated the idea of a standing military force. In the end it was deemed necessary. Can you imagine how irate they would be to learn that today’s America has MULTIPLE standing militaries? The military, our police, and dozens of federal agencies are all now well equipped to control us… if need be.
I don’t want to sound like someone with a brain-load of conspiracy theories… BUT… if we’ve learned anything over the last few years it’s that we can’t trust our government.
So does it sound wise to give up our means of protecting ourselves (the 2nd Amendment) while at the same time watching our government arm all of its different agencies to the teeth?
I don’t think so.”
At what point will anyone of import stand up and accuse the president of “dereliction of duty”?
What’s more, when will anyone of import hold him accountable for not dealing with the myriad items that he had to know about (or should reasonably have known about); all of which would get any CEO booted and rightfully so?
Jim......will any American or American organization put forth a “country wide” petition calling for the impeachment of Barack Hussein Obama? This VA scandal is murder....no matter how you look at it!!! Obama should not only be impeached...he should spend the rest of his useless life in prison!!! We need a petition like the “Obamacare” petition of last year’s sponsored by United States Senators!!! I believe millions of Americans would sign it!!!

Our vets need to change their surname to non standard white guy surname, and then demand a sex change after their health problems are taken care of.

The pentagon is not in charge of vet care unless the vets are recovering at Bethesda or another military hospital. When they are discharged due to medical reasons, they then go to a Veterans Hospital.
These Veterans are often in VA hospitals run by liberals and staffed by liberals. Since Obozo became president, he has appointed the heads of the VA. They answer to Obozo not the pentagon.
Up until 2 days ago, I never got the idea Obama had anything to do with this. (Meaning, he directed it) In reality I still don’t. However, knowing about this and doing nothing is just as bad.
I don’t see why they just put PVT Manning to sleep. Can really call him Private anymore? He committed treason.
ALL giant bureaucracies have a certain level of resistance to change and a certain lack of drive derived from the extreme regulatory and rule-centric - as opposed to rational opportunity centric - mode of operations they all have. You succeed and keep your job in such organizations by following every rule to the T, not by pointing up errors and rocking the boat. Only some crisis produces change.
Below is a big reason we don’t money to treat our wounded warriors in VA hospitals, the Obozoites are spending that money on illegals.

U.S. Air Base Provides Comfort and Benefits for 1,000 Illegal Immigrants in Texas

Since May 18, the Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas has been home to 1,000 illegal immigrant children, according to a report by the San Antonio Express-News. The decision to utilize the base comes as an overwhelming number of young people have been caught crossing the Mexican/U.S. border during recent months.
Children and teens brought to Lackland will be provided with education, foster care programs, and “behavioral treatment centers.” The projected cost of such programs, as well as the cost of the housing, has not been disclosed to U.S. taxpayers.
The federal government was forced to utilize Lackland as its own facilities can no longer accommodate the number of illegal immigrants waiting to be processed, reports state.
At the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) sector alone, more than 1,000 illegal immigrants are being apprehended per day.
RGV Border Patrol spokesman Daniel Tirado told Breitbart Texas that his sector is overwhelmed with the number of illegal immigrants that currently need to be processed. “We’re catching an average of 1,000 per day and our agents are processing them around the clock. Processing takes between one to two hours per individual—it varies case by case,” he said.
Tirado’s sector has been so overwhelmed, in fact, that 100 illegal immigrants were recently transported via plane to El Paso for processing....

There may finally be a scandal engulfing the Obama administration that even Democrats and their media collaborators can’t obfuscate. What happened at the VA facility in Phoenix, AZ, where employees created two sets of waiting lists to make it seem patients were being treated in a timely manner—and as many as 40 veterans allegedly died while languishing on the secret list—is an anomaly. Six more whistleblowers from around the nation have stepped forward, alleging the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) facilities they worked at also “cooked the books.”
The despicable subterfuge, allegedly occurring in at least seven VA Medical Centers in Arizona, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina and Illinois is as simple as it was heartless. The official waiting list is the one that ostensibly met the VA’s policy, implemented by Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki in 2010. It set a 14-day time limit to provide care for a veteran making an initial application for an appointment. Yet by the agency’s own admission, only 41 percent of new VA medical patients were seen within that period in 2013, down from 90 percent in 2012.

The best example of how Obamacare’s “death panels” is going to work, is the scandal of the unknown number of veteran sentenced to death for being denied or delayed medical assistance by government bureaucracies of the V.A.
