POLL: Tea Party's McDaniel Leads Cochran 43-39
Breitbart ^ | 19 May 2014 | Matthew Boyle

A new Citizens United Political Victory Fund poll shows that six-term incumbent Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) is slightly trailing his Tea Party challenger state Sen. Chris McDaniel just a couple weeks from election day in Mississippi. The election is on June 3.

The poll, conducted by pollster Kellyanne Conway of the Polling Company, Inc., found that McDaniel is beating Cochran 43 percent to 39 percent, respectively. A third candidate, Tom Carey, has 3 percent of voters according to the poll, and 12 percent of voters are undecided.

Conway’s firm conducted the poll between May 14 and May 15, and it surveyed 505 likely Republican primary voters in Mississippi. The poll has a 4.4 percent margin of error, meaning McDaniel’s lead is so narrow it’s just inside the margin of error according to this data.

“This is news but as of today McDaniel’s lead is dropping like a Lead Zeppelin. McDaniel’s Tea Party idiot has handed the election back to Cochran with the news of this nursing home pictures of Cochran’s wife. McDaniel needed to come clean quickly but tried the politician’s way out and acted like he didn’t know...and there is no way he didn’t for three days prior to being asked about the incident.”

Ahh...you’ve obviously been drinking too much of the kool-aid the NRSC, the GOPe and their mainstream media allies put out. What flavor was the kool-aid you drank?

Hmmm. Yes, the timing of this and its immediate notoriety in the press smells. The Barbour machine has many reasons to prop up tHad (Enough?) ...

1. Cochran gives Barbour no-bid contracts with Katrina disaster money intended for Mississippians,
2. Barbour gives cronies and family members access to federal contracts.
3. Barbour gives Motorola control over the states radio network,
4. Motorola now wants $13 million more to make the system workable,
5. Barbour registers as a lobbyist for Motorola after leaving office,
6. Barbour is raising millions to keep Cochran in office.

The news reported that McDaniel’s people had been trying to get in touch with Cochran’s about this issue since Wednesday. McDaniel was asked Saturday am what he thought about the incident and he said he didn’t know about it. Something is amiss. Still, this is hurting McDaniel. No, I’m not drinking the cool aid but McDaniel has fallen into a fly trap.

I doubt Cochrane would follow the example of former House members Wayne Gilcrest (MD) and Joe Schwarz (MI) who endorsed rats after losing their primaries in 2008 and 2006 respectively.

Lugar did not endorse the democrat, he eventually offered lukewarm support to Mourdock IIRC.

John Warner is also an in-apt example since he did not lose, he retired in 2008. He’s a true SOB though since he’s supporting Mark Warner this year, even though Mark Warner’s foe is no tea party conservative, and he probably voted for him in 2008, over a fellow RINO! He’s gone round the bend.

A non-incumbent example is State Sen Harri Anne Smith of Alabama, after losing the GOP primary for Congress in 2008 she endorsed rat Bobby Bright (who won) due to sour grapes. Since the Alabama GOP doesn’t have it’s head up it’s ass like some others they kicked her out of the party for it. Unfortunately she was reelected State Senator as an Independent with rat support. Her seat is up again this year.

Anway, these polls (2 showing McDaniel leading) are good news.

But he does support the DimocRAT Nunn in this year’s Georgia Senatorial election. It’s just as well that this duplicitous creature is gone from the caucus.

Doesn’t anyone care that Cochran lives in his travel companion’s/aide’s basement, uses her address as his permanent address, and spends most of his time in DC?

Thanks for the ping!

I mentioned Warner and Lugar because they endorsed democrats THIS year. Warner has endorsed Mark Warner instead of the Establisment Republican! And Lugar endorsed Nunn in Georgia. When push comes to shove, these types would rather the democrat than a conservative. And yet they are NEVER accused of “preventing a republican majority” as conservatives are for daring to challenge moderate incumbents.

I hadn’t heard he endorsed spawn of Nunn. That SOB. Typical.

I think no Republican in Congress should socialize with democrat members under any circumstances or “work with them” unless absolutely necessary. It leads to unsavory personal friendships which often result in the Republican endorsing the democrat (or their kid apparently) but NEVER the reverse.

Look at what being friendly with the rats has done to previously solid conservative Tom Coburn.

I’ve posted this several times: “Conservatives” tend veer left, but the leftists basically never veer right.
