It is a good thing he didn’t have a gun. Somebody could have gotten hurt.

I was just thinking that in this area there are two types of crime in which you can’t just assume the perp is Black.

Bank robbery and meth labs. Now if it had been a convenience store robbery or a gang related murder the odds are very strong that the usual suspects are involved.

Is that a knife with a bayonet lug?

It’s Hellinois - no death penalty. He’ll live a long life on the taxpayers’ dime.

I can always hope for an accident, a painful, catastrophic accident which impacts only one specific individual.

Federal crime, but he will still live a long time in Marion.

Cairo IL is a real small dump of a town. Who would have thought a feral degenerate would try to rob the bank there.

In point of fact, the perp did have a gun. He just preferred to use the blade. This is a local story and there are lots of odd details. He accosted the women as they were leaving the closed bank and forced them back inside. Since the bank’s money was safe in the vault, he stole the women’s purses and made his getaway in one of the women’s car. Two dead and one in the hospital for what amounts to a purse snatching.

What I want to know, is why a bank in Cairo, Illinois (a failed town if ever there was one) lets three women close up with no armed protection.
