“The Simpsons” cannot catch a break from Arab television.
The same Egyptian television channel that recently claimed that an episode of the popular show proved that the United States had conspired to cause the Arab Spring revolutions, is now claiming that the show was devised by Jewish lobbies and think tanks and financed by Rupert Murdoch.
The latest claims by Al-Tahrir TV aired on May 11 and were translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). During the broadcast, host Rania Badawi claimed, “[The Simpsons] is a very influential TV series in the U.S. This animated series is an American production, behind which are basically Jewish lobbies. […] It should be noted that this show is financed or produced by Fox News, behind which is Rupert Murdoch, the most influential and dangerous man in the world … when it comes to finances and media.” …

I have yet to meet a devout muslim that was happy about anything, and I have talked to many muslims over the years. They all (devout muslims) seem to be so down and devoid of humor, not a lifestyle I would choose for anyone.

The episode with the male vs. female DNA in the Simpsons’ family was the “jump the shark” moment for me.
