It's VERY unlikely that Bevin will win out-right today... but, if Mitch doesn't get 50% of the vote? Bevin will get 2 more months to make his case... If a run off is required, it will be held in July.

A new poll out yesterday had Mitch at 48%,, Bevin at 34%, with 18% UNDECIDED!

It's POSSIBLE, IMO... that Mitch will be held under 50%. That alone would be an earthquake in the Party.

So... ALL of you registered Republicans (You have to be, to vote) Get OUT THERE, and do your DUTY!!!!

Skink? Please hit the Kentucky Ping list!

Are there runoffs in Kentucky? With only two major candidates I don’t see how one would happen even if there was.

If Bevin loses, I would love to see him get over 40%!

There are, actually, FOUR candidates on the Republican Primary ballot. I don’t know who the othe two are... but, I hope they have VERY large families! :-)

Maybe the conservatives will vote and the rest stay home...turnout here in PA where I am voting today is very light...I guess around 15 percent based on what I saw this morning when I voted.

I think we had this discussion, in Texas. I'm not at all interested in any symbolic loss with >X%. A loss, is a loss... and McConnell and company won't care. If he wins by 0.1%? He'll treat it like mandate and go on as if NOTHING happened.

Today, we need to hold him to 49.99%... and, in July? We need > 50%.

That's ALL that matters.

We tried to oust RINO Cornball Cornyn, in TX. Unfortunately, we didn't have one strong, stand-out candidate to do that. Corny barely got 50% :(

Bevin at least has name recognition, support from Senate Conservatives Fund and has caught the attention of national talk hosts.

Praying Midge gets under 50%.

#DitchMitch!!

“If he wins by 0.1%? He’ll treat it like mandate and go on as if NOTHING happened.”

Oh, you’re absolutely right. A win is a win. But a high percentage for Bevin would make Thad Cochran very nervous, and Pat Roberts, and Lamar Alexander. As well as all the worthless moderates with piss poor voting records who are up for reelection in 2016.

There’s always another election. And good showings means more money for challengers. The Establishment wants the Tea Party crushed and their funding sources eliminated.

Each man to fear a stranger;
Whate’er the game, we join in chase,
Despising toil and danger.
And if a daring foe annoys,
Whate’er his strength and forces,
We’ll show him that Kentucky boys
Are alligator horses.

Oh Kentucky, The Voters of Kentucky!

Bevin could beat the Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes in the mid-term election but I don't think Mitch could.

We are already seeing anti-Grimes tv ads, sponsored by Mitch.

I think, either Bevin or McConnell will beat Grimes in November. She's a milk-toast loser. But, I agree that Bevin would have an easier time of it.

MM is the easy favorite today.

SHOULD be the favorite... but, you never know till the voting's done.

I swear... around where I live? I have not seen ONE SIGN, or bumper sticker for McConnell. Not a single one.

Meanwhile, there are several very large Bevin signs posted at key locations... and, just in the past two weeks, I've seen a dozen or more Bevin bumper stickers.

Of course, mines been on my car for 6 weeks or so... Mostly, parked at the Louisville airport, near the 3rd floor elevators. :-)

I'll be phone banking this afternoon.

I agree, 90% of signs that I’ve seen are for Bevin...but I think that’s because MM is so entrenched and Bevin needs to get name recognition.

MM is playing really dirty too, claiming that Bevin lied on his resume (linked in profile) among other stuff..if you didn’t do your own research you would think Bevin was a scumbag from the way that MM portrays him in radio and TV ads.

As I got out of my car today at work, the last thing I heard on the radio was Carl Cameron of FOX News say that McConnell will win easily today because Matt Bevin had too many missteps in his campaign, the most damning of which was when he spoke out in favor of "Cock Fights and Dog Fighting" What the hell? I know he made a couple of mistakes, serious mistakes, but I do NOT believer he ever endorsed dog fighting. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If only conservatives could muster the same enthusiasm for defeating DEMOCRATS, as they do defeating fellow Republicans. Talking about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

This attitude and action gave the Dems the Senate in the first place... choosing candidates unelectable in the general election, giving the Dems an easy win.

You should keep up with the news:

Kentucky Senate candidate Matt Bevin caught backing cockfighting

http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/matt-bevin-video-cockfighting

It was a dumb thing — I don’t hold this per se against him, but if he is this naïve, if he were to win in the primary, the Dems would eat him alive and Mitch’s seat would be easily captured by the Dem. Great conservative accomplishment. (/sarc)

Exactly! Rule of Thumb: 80 percent of Undecideds usually go for the challenger. If a person is undecided on whether or not to vote for a 30 year incumbent, it is highly unlikely that the the incumbent will get that vote.

I posted this yesterday, but it applies to today too.

I just made a trip from my place to Somerset in Kentucky. About a hundred miles round trip or so. Two different ways were taken, all of them on the back roads.

I saw numerous Bevin yard signs and amazingly not one, NOT ONE, McConnell yard sign.

On the other hand I and my friends and neighbors have been receiving ‘I support Mitch” robo-calls unceasingly for the last five days. Personally I let the answering machine get them and if the Robo-calls starts blasting away, I answer and hang-up immediately.

One of my wife’s friends received 21 call this weekend and called the local McConnell office to complain and tell them to stop the Harassment!

So my own entirely unofficial position is that McConnell is really running scared. He is spending his campaign cash like it was government money in direct, personal campaigning with directed mail flyers and these G.D. irritating phone calls. And I hope he loses and loses big! For five years and six months he ignores his ‘home’ state every term he has been in the Senate and only pays attention when it’s campaign season.

It’s time to give McConnell a long-over due retirement.

Now today, when I went to vote, which for me is almost a thirty minute drive across the county, I saw Zip, zero, nada Mitch McConnell signs. On the other hand I saw numerous Bevin Signs and two Ditch Mitch signs.

Voting was steady here in my rural county. Someone showing up every five minutes or so and my local poll workers knew my by sight, I still showed my drivers licence as well as my voters card. Five minutes later after filling out the PAPER ballot and scanning, found me on my way back home to the farm and work here.

As much as I hate to say it, Louisville and Lexington will decide the vote as usual. The cities just plain outnumber those of us out here in the Rural counties.

“I support the people of Kentucky exercising their right, because it is our right to decide what it is that we want to do, and not the federal government’s,” Bevin responded. “Criminalizing behavior, if it’s part of the heritage of this state, is in my opinion a bad idea. A bad idea. I will not support it.”

Which part of that statement do you disagree with?

Personally, I 100% agree with Matt. If the people of Kentucky, or Louisiana want to fight dogs or roosters, it should be up to THEM to decide... NOT the Federal government.

Unfortunately, there are no run offs in Kentucky elections. And it’s a sad day for Kentucky when the Senate Minority Traitor wins with the percentage he is tonight. Let’s just hope he grows some balls (or borrows his wife’s) and gives half as much of a fight to Harry Reid as he does to the Tea Party.
