BREAKING: Dinesh D'Souza Pleads Guilty to Violating Campaign Finance Law

Author and conservative filmmaker Dinesh D'Souza plead guilty this morning to federal charges accusing him of violating campaign finance laws and making false statements. D'Souza admitted in front of the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, that he did in fact ask two people to make contributions in their name and later reimbursed them, knowing it was not proper under the law. Judge Richard Berman accepted his guilty plea and set a sentencing date for September 23, 2014. The government argued attorneys would be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt the defendant, D'Souza, is guilty.

"Guilty your honor," D'Souza said, adding that he deeply regrets his actions.

"The plea is now accepted and Mr. D'Souza is now guilty under the indictment," Berman replied.

At least he didn’t leave a girl to drown in a sinking car.

Or own a firearm. What the hell was he thinking??? I can’t think of a single politician who would be worth this type of charge even if the risk was calculably infinitesimal. What a dumbass...

This is a joke when you consider violating campaign finance laws is the norm for Commie ‘RATS.

Hmm, even RATS get convicted on bundling. It is just too simple to prosecute. D’Souza violated and basic law which is a spit in the face or regulators they can't ignore.

He’ll probably get a pardon with the next GOP President.

A man is defined by his enemis. Your values are what you will NOT tolerate.

A conviction under THIS particular Prez is a badge of honor, and that will only become more and more clear as time wears on.

Remember the shock that Joe caused when he screamed out, “You lie..!” in the middle of the first State of the Union. Well, now Joe seems prescient.

THAT is where Dinesh is going —he is SHREWD to do this, both for his financial bottom line and also for his legacy.

The Regime is helping Dinesh to become a conservative Michael Moore, but honest and slim.

This is like the Martha Stewart case. He would be unable to convince a jury that he is not guilty even if he is not guilty.

I can’t think of a single politician who would be worth this type of charge even if the risk was calculably infinitesimal.

And if you were trying to find such a candidate, Wendy Long would not be at the top of your list of prospects. She had never held or even run for any elective office. Her resume highlight was having served as a legal advisor to Mitt Romney. Most importantly, she had zero chance against a popular Dem incumbent in deep blue New York. Her eventual losing number was 46%. No, she didn't lose with 46% (a respectable 54-46 loss); she lost by 46% (Gillibrand 72, Long 26).

D'Souza knowingly violated the law so that he could pour his money down a rathole. He explained that she was a friend from his college days, but, given his track record, you have to wonder about the nature of the friendship.

I would think he would submit a No Contest Plea.

Impossible in federal court without the consent of the prosecutor. Otherwise, your choices are limited to guilty or not guilty.
