The United States and Russia are approaching "a second Cold War," and President Barack Obama is to blame for the deteriorating relations between the countries, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said.
In an interview with Bloomberg Television, Medvedev said Russia is preparing retaliatory steps in response to the sanctions the United States imposed on the country due to the escalation of conflict in Ukraine.
"We are slowly but surely moving toward a second Cold War, which no one needs," Medvedev said. "Why am I saying this? Because a competent politician knows how to make reserved, careful subtle, wise, and intelligent decisions, which, I believe, Mr. Obama succeeded at for awhile."
Medvedev did not elaborate on the details of possible Russian action.
"We havent especially commented on" sanctions "or responded to them harshly, although we could do something unpleasant or offensive to those countries that are introducing these sanctions."
Medvedev also blamed Obama, his onetime partner in a reset of relations, for a lack of "political tact," Bloomberg reported.

Because Mr. Flexible got bent over by Putin.
As if he wouldn't love every minute of it.
The 1980’s called to ask if you wanted their foreign policy back.
Putin told Obummer the the cold war never ended.
No thanks to Clinton and the Kosovo nonsense.
I knew he was smiling for a reason.
Well, then we are screwed...
Obama has relayed his profoundest apologies for the US winning the first Cold War and promises to do all in power to make sure we lose the next one.
"The 2009 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to U.S. President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.
That's what happens when you give awards before you judge what a president accomplishes. Not that Obama has been successful at anything good for us or the world. He has accomplished stirring up the pot, and creating mayhem everywhere.
Time to yank that "prize" back!
Meanwhile, China is threatening to use “non-peaceful means” to settle the Spratley’s dispute with Vietnam and the Phillipines now.
The entire world may end up lamenting the election of the nightmare Barack Obama to the White House.
He was awarded the 2009 Peace Prize, because his last name wasn’t “Bush.”
With America becoming such a corrupt, one-party tyranny, and sporting a depraved, evil, faggoty culture, I can’t just take it as a given that we’ll still be the “good guys” in a new Cold War dichotomy.
He didn't press the reset button hard enough ?
Not lose... surrender.
I’m all for a new Cold War if it causes us to finally reverse our foolish cuts in military spending. It will take very different leadership in Washington for that to happen, though.
Good thing there wasn’t a World War III.
I guess when Obama told Russia he would be more flexible after the election, he meant he would be able to bend over and hold his ankles on command.
No thanks to Clinton and the Kosovo nonsense.”
