Political Correctness Makes Race and Genetics Taboo in the West, Which is Why China is Winning
Breitbart ^ | 5/20/14 | Milo Yiannopoulos

Posted on 05/20/2014 4:56:24 PM PDT by Altura Ct.

Most scientists will tell you that race has no biological basis—it is, in academic-speak, a “social construct.” But a new book by distinguished journalist Nicholas Wade challenges that assumption, concluding that race is real and human social behaviour is subject to natural selection just like everything else.

As the New York Review of Books put it, in its coverage of Wade’s A Troublesome Inheritance: Genes, Race and Human History, there is now a “statistical sense” in which races are real. Scientists can tell, based on genetic variance, which continent a DNA sample comes from. That might not sound revolutionary to you, but it’s only recently that we’ve had the computer processing power to do it.

Wade doesn’t shy away from the disquieting implications of his theories: our genes, he says, could explain why some countries are wealthy while others languish in penury. In fact, the more we discover about ourselves from genomics, the more it becomes apparent that science and ideology are on a collision course.

Why? Because it’s totally unacceptable to say in public these days that different races might have different behavioural characteristics, and that those characteristics might be genetically determined… even though that’s the way the science seems to be pointing.

To be fair, it’s easy to understand why researchers get cagey. The all-consuming cult of equality struggles with any suggestion that social behaviours might be genetically determined: that habits and predilections might have diverged along with skin colour. No scientist wants to be responsible for research that justifies crude observations about white sexual mores or black dietary preferences.

Wade’s book is a game-changer, except for the fact that we don’t do real science any more. We just focus on pseudo-science which reinforces all the stuff we already “know”. The stuff that challenges our PC assumptions tends to wind up in the remainder bin.

They insist that humans “evolved,” but refuse to accept that some humans kept right on evolving out of environmental necessity, leaving other groups, who had found their environmental niche and stopped evolving, quite literally in the dust.

Discussion of race and genetics is taboo only among the proles - and even then the taboo is only a pretense.

The issue has been settled and agreed upon by the mandarins for some time now. If Calvinism and the Anglican “Homily of Obedience” proved unsatisfactory, Darwin gave them the needed scientific justification for ruling over us inferiors.

The pretended taboo keeps us fighting among ourselves, squabbling over the leftovers. They’ll teach some of us to murder our babies (Margaret Sanger and Planned Parenthood eugenics). They’ll flood our nation with foreigners (legal and illegal) to compete for our jobs. And they’ll tell us to NOT (wink wink) be racist and xenophobic. (Books like the one mentioned above serve only to stoke the fire.)

Anything to keep us in our place.

Does the guy compare the same race in different cultures? I am betting culture trumps race. Some cultures stifle themselves (North Korea?). America at its best does a great job of creating a situation where people of any race, or mixed race, can flourish.

Marxism applied to different economic classes is bad enough, but the kitsch Marxism with its raceless, sexual preferenceless, and genderless societies is absolutely idiotic. From bourgeois privilege to white skin privilege is a step down in coherence, as David Horowitz pointed out.

Culture and race are far from mutually exclusive.

I’ve heard that ethnic minorities are discriminated against in many Asian countries.

About 90% of China’s population is Han Chinese. The remainder are other ethnicities.

Recent violence in Vietnam related to ethnic Chinese there should remind us that America is much more tolerant than some other places.

The superior races are Asians.
Best grades in US colleges.
Highest incomes of any racial group.
Least crimes compared to other races.

A petite lady from India I work across from was violently mugged Friday night. In all the discussions not one person asked about the ethnicity of the mugger, nor was it ever offered. When it isn't mentioned, everybody already knows.

Wow. This is pure unadulterated B.S. Nicholas Wade is an uber-lefty write for the New York Times The NYT and the left has been promoting this book to the hilt for the last couple months. Whoever wrote this article is an ignorant dupe or a manipulative, evil person. They are trying to spin a left wing idea as if it's acceptable to the right.

Oh, and the idea that, "China is winning." Wow. Like their research doesn't have bias issues, and they are "winning" as a country on the brink of total chaos and demograpic implosion.

What is with this new trend of taking failed left wing ideas and trying to repackage them as, "conservative." Somehow, I think Valerie Jarrett is somewhere writing talking points and sending them to, "conservative," media. It's working.

Charles Murray ("The Bell Curve") reviewed Wade's book in the WSJ. He said it was solidly researched, summed up decades of good science (which has been assiduously ignored) and made it impossible for thinking people to say "we're all the same".

What have you got in response? And -- "he's an uber-lefty" will not be considered a compelling argument, at least by me.

It's even more straightforward than that: being accused of racism will terminate your grant funding faster than openly disputing Global Warming will.

All these scientists want to do is to be able to continue getting funding.

America does do a great job of creating opportunity....yet aren’t there stark differences in the success rates of the races?

So does the black subculture trump the American culture?

To me its somewhat obvious. People of different races have very obvious physical characteristics. Yet we pretend there can’t possibly be wnd mental, cognitive, or psychological differences. That makes no sense - especially when we are surrounded with evidence to the contrary every day.

So you think the New York Times is conservative? And this new study that strikes the winning blow for big government is good? And Chinese communism are superior to U.S. capitalism?
