The alarming messages began appearing on Chinese-language social media networks in early February: A proposal in the California Legislature would cut the number of Asian students admitted to UC schools.
Posters called it the "Yellow Peril Act," while others breathlessly compared the proposed amendment to the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, which restricted Chinese immigration.

In practice and actuality, “affirmative action” programs were never meant to include minorities other than blacks. Sure, tacit acceptance of some groups’ inclusion under the banner (e.g., American Indians, Inuits, etc.) has been seen.
But when the “Asian Americans” got too much, too soon, too often, then the NAACP, SPLC, SCLC, et all say “whoa!” “Hold on a minute here!”.
Couple this with a California that is now inundated with illegal Hispanics, legal Hispanics, along with blacks and you have too many at the table for that Federal AA pie....something’s gotta give!
Sorry folks. You threw your lot in with the party that favors this.
Once you’ve delivered yourself into bondage you don’t get to tell your master what to do.
Who exactly are “people of color” anyway? Don’t Asians qualify?
I guess they do. It is not my sayso that determines the AA’s aegis. I was just commenting on trends and apparent practice in it’s implementation.
As my daddy used to say, “I don’t have a dog in this hunt.”
Despite all the talk of the growing latino population in the US, the Asian population is growing 5 times faster.
Is it just me, or is not “white” a color? This whole distinction is crap in my opinion. It is just an excuse for revenge, punishment and vengeance. It’s about control, not equality. Diversity my butt.
It’s just an electoral strategy employed by the Democrats that are seeking power and enfluence.
The second Asians or Latino’s turn in large numbers towards the Republican party the hate for them spewing from the Democrats will shock many.
The thought that it might be hard-working, intelligent Asians is another matter.
