Canadian geneticist David Suzuki urged Western governments to lock up politicians who question man-made climate change, telling PBS Bill Moyers our politicians should be thrown in the slammer for willful blindness!
Suzuki appeared on Moyers and Company earlier this month to express his abject frustration over politicians, in both Canada and the United States, who refuse to accept the settled science on man-made global warming.
Our politicians should be thrown in the slammer for willful blindness! he asserted. If we are in a position of being able to act, and we see something going on and we refuse to acknowledge the threat or act on it, we can be taken to court for willful blindness.
I think that we are being willfully blind to the consequences to our children and grandchildren, Suzuki continued. Its an intergenerational crime.
Moyers, a well-known climate alarmist, didnt push back a bit instead gently tabling the idea as impractical.
The problem is, if that should happen if politicians were to be convicted to willful blindness to the fate of the Earth and future generations there would have to be mass arrests, and lots more funding for new prisons, he noted. Were not talking about a mere handful of culprits. Its hard to know where to start.
Willful blindness is a legitimate legal reference in the United States (and, presumably, Canada) used to describe the intentional failure of an individual to become aware of facts pointing to criminal liability.
But arresting politicians for being willfully blind to facts on climate change would mean criminalizing not only those industries and individuals that emit carbon, but also anyone who dares take an opinion contrary to the settled science".
Perhaps that would fly in Suzukis home country, which prosecuted conservative writer Mark Steyn a few years ago for his views on Islam. But the good scientist may want to brush up on the U.S. Constitution before making such claims south of the border.
In April, Rochester Institute of Technology professor Lawrence Torcello argued that those who deny global warming are criminally negligent and that the funding of climate denial should be an imprisonable offense.

But you better not DARE call him a fascist!
Is he related to Joe Suzuki?
The opposite is what everyone should be talking about. I know I try to post on every thread involving the hoax, that we should be pushing for legal punishment of the scammers. Instead, they get the headlines threatening us with being locked up.
Logically then, he should be thrown into jail for imitating a real scientist.
Follow the money.
Another word for Authoritarian.
Lenin had the same dream
A recent photo from the Hubble telescope shows that the 'Red Eye' on Jupiter is shrinking. This is climate change.
There is nothing we can do to warm the planet. We can cool the planet by setting off multiple nuclear devices and send dust clouds into the atmosphere.
Man can not warm the planet. Energy comes from the sun.
And we’re actually letting people with this mindset determine our future. 4 billion years of climate change and we are living on this Earth because of it.
Better idea...send the warmers to one of the poles...according to them it will be warm enough there soon...if not...well, no loss to the rest of us...
why is a geneticist being asked anything about globull warming?
I hate to point it out to this guy, but politicians are in charge of passing criminal laws and saying who should be locked up. Will they send themselves to jail? Many people believe they should, but don’t hold your breath....
Suzuki gets crazier as he gets older
Better to lock up the ignorant, stupid and corrupt scientists.
Wow, a Japanese guy suggesting there be Internment Camps.
That was so 70 Years ago, Dude...
Can he get me a sweet deal on a Hayabusa?
this person is a hack that attempted to duplicate the popularization of science of the original cosmos tv series. Directors wheel him out when they need a “scientist says...” something.
He is no better than the history channel alien expert.
Do you want to hear the most ironic part? Suzuki actually spent time in an internment camp, in Canada, during the war.
Lock up everyone who has made money on this scam.Al Gore would be the first to go.
Lock up people who deny that the climate has been changing for the past billion years or so, and that the forces responsible for those changes are no longer active.
