The conservative journalist duped progressives Ed Begley Jr. and Mariel Hemmingway to get involved in an anti-fracking film that was funded by Middle Eastern oil interests.

James O’Keefe says he duped Ed Begley Jr. and Mariel Hemmingway into agreeing to get involved with an anti-fracking movie while hiding that its funding comes from Middle Eastern oil interests.Journalist James O’Keefe, known for his controversial undercover sting operations aimed usually at liberals — is set to unveil at the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday the first of a group of videos that he says will reveal hypocrisy among Hollywood environmentalists.
In the video, obtained exclusively by The Hollywood Reporter and embedded below, actors Ed Begley Jr. and Mariel Hemmingway are duped by a man named “Muhammad,” who is looking to make an anti-fracking movie while hiding that its funding is coming from Middle Eastern oil interests.
Muhammad, accompanied by a man pretending to be an ad executive, seemingly has the two actors agreeing to participate in the scheme, even after he acknowledges that his goal is to keep America from becoming energy independent. The meeting, which appears to have been secretly recorded, took place a few months ago at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
And, he’s going to release this Wednesday at the Cannes Film Festival!

Saw Hemingway on Megan Kelly last night whining that O’Keefe was dishonest because he duped her! Kelly didn’t have the brains to point out that police do the same thing all the time, nor that Hemingway’s acceptance of the premise (Arab oil wants to stop fracking to keep America dependent on their oil) shows a anti-American bias and total hypocrisy re: her supposed environmentalism.
He can’t match Snowden for blowing the lid off government treachery.
I disagree. I found this chilling and enlightening, not only regarding the role of Hollywood, but in terms of their coordination with Big NGOs and the role they play overall behind the scenes in Leftist, anti-US movements.

I agree, but few just happen to be in Snowden’s position of unique access to the inner workings. O’Keefe really works hard, with great cleverness and effect, to get at his evidence.
Three points:
1. I’m very surprised that this is going to show at any film festival anywhere in the world let alone the one at Cannes.
2. I hope the “O’Keefe Legal Fund” is well stocked with cash. The lawsuits are going to fly when this gets shown.
3. And a big “Attaboy” for James O’Keefe.

question.. did any of the ‘Hollywood’ group resist sting?
They will claim, “Entrapment!”
But I saw no twisting of arms, no threats of blackmail, no overt coercion of any kind. These were True Believers willing to engage in deceit and subterfuge, allowing the end to justify the means, no matter the source of the funding so long as nobody ever made the connection.
If they did, and it became known, they'd never work in Hollywood again. The flip side is that Begley and Hemmingway will become heroic victims with that crowd.
Somebody should tell Hemingway the same thing that a defense attorney tells his client: Entrapment is not a crime, it is a defense of a crime.
Entrapment is a form of the premise con artist work from..and that is:
“You can’t cheat an honest man”
