As TPNN’s “The Capitol Hill Show with Tim Constantine” began it’s second hour today, host Tim Constantine was clearly agitated about something. New revelations in the case of Senator Thad Cochran’s nursing home-bound wife, and the “activist” who was taking pictures of her in her hospital room may point to a disgraceful ploy that seems all too clear…and it was potentially orchestrated by Senator Cochran’s team.
In an absolutely disgusting move apparently for political gain, Senator Thad Cochran may be going as far as to throw his own bedridden wife under the bus. The Capitol Hill Show’s Tim Constantine broke down the disturbing evidence that seems to point to Senator Cochran’s involvement in exploiting his wife to gain a political edge on his strongest opponent, State Senator Chris McDaniel.
“How is that possibly going to help Chris McDaniel?” Said Constantine on Monday’s show of the activist who snuck into Rose Cochran’s room last Friday. He continued with some very strong words for Senator Cochran. “Senator Thad Cochran, and/or his staff, have thrown his wife under the bus in an act of desperation, because they believe Chris McDaniel is going to beat them in this primary for the United States Senate. They are now causing something themselves, and accusing Chris McDaniel and his staff of this reprehensible behavior… It defies any ounce of human goodness.”
Constantine fumed when talking about what he believed was the Cochran campaign’s likely involvement in the scandal, and even called for Cochran’s resignation, calling it “The most reprehensible thing I have ever seen.”

When I heard about this mystery activist, my first question was “who is this and how do we know which candidate they supporting?”

That’s true, but the headline says outright what other articles hint at.
What is the downside of the pictures for Cochran? What is the upside of the pictures for Cochran? I don’t see how publishing pictures of the wife in the skilled nursing facility helps the challenger.
Uh yes...The Tea parties candidates who screwed up previous opportunities to gain seats are being defeated. The result of this is that the Democrats and Harry Reid wont keep their majority. Isn’t that the objective?

Oh, you mean Carly Fiorina, Connie Mack, George Allen, Pete Hoekstra, Heather Wilson, Rick Berg, Tommy Thompson, Denny Rehberg?
Childers also gains from this. Recent poll from a month or so ago has Childers defeating Cochran.

This story has more criss crosses than a red and white tablecloth at a summer picnic. I don’t know what to make of either side. I’m glad it is not my area of the country. I don’t need to decipher this silliness.
That’s a breach of trust unlike any other.Taking a mistress while your wife is sick,that’s just begging for judgement.
Haven’t been following this but I must say at first blush it seems more plausible that Cochran’s team would be behind it than McDaniel’s.
Cochran is not coherent enough to do this. His bagman Haley Barbour is, and would do anything to keep his K street gravy train on the track.

It is, as are the articles and accusations against Senator McDaniel and his campaign. It’s not the kind of thing I would expect of Senator Cochran or his supporters before this campaign began but now I believe certain elements of Senator Cochran’s supporters would certainly be capable of after their other attacks against Senator McDaniel.
I’m still trying to wrap my mind around shipping your wife off 1000 miles to another state to an obviously not secure ‘home’ while you carry on with the replacement version as though nothing happened.
A human being would have announced his retirement, thanked the good people of MS for the opportunity to serve them and then moved home (or wherever) to take care of an obviously pressing family illness and wished luck to his replacement.
It’s not like he doesn’t have a solid gold pension or a solid gold lifetime health care package. She is entitled to the same exact care Ronald Reagan got for the same exact illness. I don’t recall Nancy shipping Ronny off to a non private home 1000 miles away so she could carry on as though she were free and single again. And Teddy Kennedy hardly wasted away in a nursing home when he had fatal brain cancer.
The Cochran campaign didn’t even TELL Thad that the video/posting had occurred until nearly a week after it happened according to a spokesperson for them. Unconscionable. I’d have fired the lot of them.
Absolutely agreed with this statement. I think Cochran just wanted to retire and enjoy life with the pretty older woman he’s in so many pics with.
It’s telling that his handlers won’t let him debate. And that they parsed the video and its meaning for nearly a week before they even TOLD him his wife had been taped and posted on the internet. Can you imagine someone keeping something like that from you? For nearly a week? Just wow!
