Republicans in Congress suggested he designate 50,000 acres to the park but Mr. Obama rejected that in favor of this enormous land grab along the Mexican border. It will be impossible to keep the drug cartels from using the land as a refuge and a portal for smugglers.

Good one! HaHa!
Conservatives really have a clear objective in the future of the return of the western federal land takings. The Democrats will fight it tooth and nail, desperate to stop the return of lands, because it is an essential part of Agenda 21.
But once the lands have been given back, they need to nail the coffin closed by stripping the power of the president begun by Teddy Roosevelt, of the presidential proclamation having a legislative meaning instead of being an empty gesture.
And working off this will be an eventual overturning of the Supreme Court’s terrible Kelo decision, so that eminent domain can only be used for clearly public purposes, which unless they are military or Indian reservations, cannot exclude the public. Nor can that land be resold for private purposes.

It won’t be impossible. Make it an Air force, Navy, Marine, Army Air Heavy bombing range.
Seems to me that these PD’S could be undone by the next President...there is something to run on.
Seems like a good place to play “The Most Dangerous Game” with the illegal invaders and drug cartel scum.
But the cartels will respect US law and make sure no motorized vehicles are used in the area and will, of course, pick up their litter.
No doubt. Just post some signs in English and Espanole and voila....No problemo senor. And, IF there was anything worth scooping up out of the ground............Can’t happen now.

Who doubts this latest development is part of the same package?
We have driven along that NM/M border. There was nothing there except a dirt road and a rusty barbed wire fence. Illegals could just walk across.
Maybe this is to allow the “Falcon Battalion” members to work their way up to Albuquerque.
The land was grabbed from whom?
do illegal aliens care about pipe cactus? or willow flycatchers? or turtles or jumping meadow mice? Do the aliens care about the immigration habits of mountain goats?
The BLM, who slaughters wild horses by the thousands by running them to death in order to ‘protect the environment’ and who will accost American citizens, who dare to trod on bird habitat, with arms more suitable for Afganistan, turn their backs and smile when it comes to protecting our “precious” fauna and flora near the border.
The FEDs are disgusting and anti-Free-American.
Nonesense. The land was federal, and it still is. Why do you confuse the issue? If you’re concerns are valid, then surely clear communication will support your opinion.
Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is a ... UNESCO biosphere reserve [ a UN reserve]
“Private property rights literally disappear, not only in the officially designated area, but worse, in buffer zones OUTSIDE the designated area. Not only has the federal government been using these treaties and agreements to limit access to, and use of these lands to all Americans, but they also have used the UN designations to limit use of private property OUTSIDE the boundaries of the site.”
” ...in becoming party to these international land-use designations through Executive Branch action, the United States is indirectly agreeing to terms of international treaties, such as the Biodiversity Treaty - a UN treaty that has never been ratified by the United States Senate.”
” In other words, we have agreed to limit our right of sovereignty over these lands.”
