HOUSTON, TexasTea Party Groups across Texas are reporting mailers being sent out across the Lone Star State from groups they claim either do not exist or are not true Tea Party groups. One mailer in particular, from the United Texas Tea Party is particularly troubling to groups from all across Texas who claim there doesn't seem to be any such group in existence.
According to the website, TeaParty911.com, a coalition of Tea Party Leaders across Texas is demanding answers on a fake Tea Party Mailer found in Texas mailboxes on Friday." The groups said their research reveals that the United Texas Tea Party does not legally exist. They also claim the Texas Ethics Commission has no registration of a political committee operating under that name. They claim that in order to distribute political advertising supporting or opposing a candidate, such a group is obligated to abide by the Texas Election Code as summarized on page 3 of the Texas Ethics Commissions Campaign Finance Guide for Political Committees.
The mailer in question asks voters to Celebrate the Texas Tea Party Champions." It lists the following candidates: David Dewhurst, candidate for Lt. Governor; Ken Paxton, candidate for Attorney General; Sid Miller, candidate for Agriculture Commissioner; and Wayne Christian, candidate for Railroad Commissioner. The mailer allegedly does not appear to contain any of the required political disclaimers.

My Sis in Houston tells me that David Dewhurst alone is such a well-known RINO that it will destroy the credibility of anything which it says.
I wonder how much these types of mailers actually work. I never look at the ones I receive.
They tried this in Michigan and two democrats were prosecuted.
They had candidates who didn’t even know they were on the ballot and candidates who were 14 and 15 years old. They even had one candidate who lives in Arizona and didn’t know he was on the ballot.
I find the big wide ones very useful when the dustpan isn’t handy.
Your sister is right.
LOL same here. Glossy cardstock is a fine but expensive dustpan. It also works for handheld masking when painting around windows and such.
Anyone who falls for these phony liars’ mailers is too stupid to be a TEA Party member. We got a good laugh out of Tommy Merrit’s mailer that pictured Sid Miller, his TEA Party opponent for Ag Commissioner, as a criminal with his eyes shut, while Merrit’s was work in’ hard lifting a hay bale in the snow.
The only problem is that it is possibly the worst photoshopped picture ever attempted, and Merrit should demand his money back on that mailer. There are a lot of Republicans running who are dirty enough to be closet Democrats.
Maybe it is time we start doing this. It seems to work and there doesn’t seem to be a downside. Just make stuff up and send it on.
Sounds like classic DoWorst.
