A new bridge concept spanning the River Seine, designed by Paris-based architectural studio Atelier Zündel Cristea, is a little different from the 37 existing ones.
The trampoline bridge was created based on a brief for a competition titled "A Bridge in Paris", and consists of three giant inflatable PVC buoys, with an arch-like form, connected by cord to either side of the Seine, and situated close to the existing Bir-Hakiem bridge.

I can only imagine what would happen if the Paris Trampoline Bridge was caught up by a gust of wind. At least the kids were trapped IN the bouncy house. Not so for those unfortunate souls trampolining over the River Seine.
How smart do you have to be to figure out that an over-sized open-air springboard constructed of webbing and inflatable frames + dozens of pedestrians + water + concrete = disaster?

FYI, this story was posted in 2012. I didn’t bother to find out whether or not they actually built the bridge. I think I know what the answer is.

There was a swimming pool in the Seine for summer use.
It sank.
I actually kind of like it, both the idea and the aesthetics, but as an amusement rather than any sort of practical means of traversing the river. It’d likely never get built here due to liability, or if it did, mandatory helmets, one person at a time, maybe tethered so some idiot can’t boink off into the river and drown.
I agree. The design has an interesting and innovative beauty, but as you stated; the bridge is impractical.

I think you misread the story— the pool was “cinq pieds de profondeur”— five feet deep.

The pool I had in mind was made of barges tied together and anchored on the edge of the Seine. It had been in use for 200 years.
On July 9, 1993 it was reported one of the barges broke its mooring and went down, taking the rest of the structure with it. It was not replaced.
What a wonderful design. As far as I can tell, it’s entirely resistant to deflation by vandals and not at all likely to blow away during heavy winds. /s
