HUNTSVILLE, TX, May 21, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Planned Parenthood affiliate in Texas bilked state and federal taxpayers for 10 years by performing unnecessary medical procedures on incarcerated teens, most of whom are minorities, according to a lawsuit filed by a whistleblower.

“Planned Parenthood targets an incarcerated population of minority youth exclusively for unnecessary testing and fraudulent claim billing,” according to a lawsuit filed by Patricia Carroll, an Accounts Receivable Manager at Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast (PPGC) from October 2007 until she resigned in October 2012.

Taxpayer money wasted/defrauded from Federal and state of Texas sources.

Of course, the Obama Admin will pursue this agressively - NOT!

However, the Texas Governor Candidate and Attorney General Abbott will (the good news).

Abbott ought to make this a centerpiece of his campaign.

That would put Wendy Davis on the spot...

If Patricia Carroll did not blow the whistle, they might have thrown her in jail when this was uncovered.

But I believe this to be the case of an honest citizen trying to do the right thing... With the help of Abby Johnson...

There must be some mistake. These pristine, beautiful, saintly people would not do this would they? s/

As a result, minority “youths were exposed to the risks of blood tests (such as hepatitis)” for no reason except the center's profit.

It is obvious that whoever was being quoted here is not medically trained. It is impossible to get hepatitis from having one's blood drawn. The needles and tubes are sterile and cannot cause any disease.

If the person who said that was the one drawing blood, then another charge against PP should be that it had untrained personnel performing medical procedures.

MONEY!

Follow it...

Karen Reynolds, a decade-long employee at PPGC, filed a lawsuit stating that her Planned Parenthood affiliate gave each of its 12 offices in Texas and Louisiana regular revenue goals and instructed them to defraud the state through deceptive billing.

Whistleblowers at least used to get a cut of the fines paid. Thanks topher.

Will they be able to test themselves and keep on billing?

Maybe they already do that...

I believe there is enough information from this article and another article to have CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS of all Planned Parenthood locations not only in Texas but in all 50 states.

The LifeSiteNews.com article ends with a link to another LifeSiteNews.com article:

According to a a 23-page report produced by the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) in 2012, Planned Parenthood has committed between $88 and $99 million in fraud and abuse

This article implies there is widespread corruption in Planned Parenthood. Maybe Pro-Lifers should ask Congress -- especially the House -- to start a nationwide investigation of Planned Parenthood. Certainly it would not hurt Texas AG Greg Abbott to start a criminal investigation of all Planned Parenthood locations in Texas.

There seems to be good reason and evidence to do this.

If no other reason: what happened at Planned Parenthood Golden Gate. The abuse and fraud was so bad in this California Planned Parenthood that they waved their hands and made this office permanently disappear.

Congress really needs to start investigating Planned Parenthood (See Reply #15). And individual pro-lifers and pro-life organization should be putting pressure on Congress to do this.

You are assuming that Planned Parenthood would use safe medical procedures.

There are two problems with this statement:

(1) These are folks who do abortions.

(2) This is Planned Parenthood (who have condoms that are most likely to break [I am not kidding about that].

These people murder babies for a living. We are really surprised they have qualms about defrauding the government?

It is true that PP has no real interest in using safe medical procedures. I was, however, commenting on the lack of knowledge of the person being quoted. Anyone who is medically trained (even someone working in an abortuary where standards are lax) knows that there is no chance of getting disease from sterile needles.

This is Planned Parenthood (who have condoms that are most likely to break [I am not kidding about that].

Yes, I have heard that. I have also heard that they purposely prescribe birth control pills at a dose that is too low to prevent pregnancy. That they purposely give out birth control in such a way that it is likely to fail is criminal... but then, this *is* PP we are talking about. Their business is based on murder--why would we expect them to do *anything* in an ethical manner?
