A still-classified State Department e-mail says that one of the first responses from the White House to the Benghazi attack was to contact YouTube to warn of the “ramifications” of allowing the posting of an anti-Islamic video, according to Rep. Darrell Issa, the Republican chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
The memo suggests that even as the attack was still underway — and before the CIA began the process of compiling talking points on its analysis of what happened — the White House believed it was in retaliation for a controversial video.
The subject line of the e-mail, which was sent at 9:11 p.m. Eastern Time on the night of the attack, is “Update on Response to actions – Libya.” The was written hours before the attack was over.
Issa has asked the White House to declassify and release the document. In the meantime he has inserted a sentence from the e-mail in the Congressional Record.
“White House is reaching out to U-Tube [sic] to advice ramification of the posting of the Pastor Jon video,” the e-mail reads, according to Issa.

Asked about the document, a senior White House official told ABC News it demonstrates that the White House genuinely believed the video sparked the attack all along, a belief that turned out to be incorrect.

I think I wrote on that day, 9/12 maybe?? as a LOT of Freepers did that the video in the morning had less that 500 hits, maybe less than that. There was a full video that had very few hits( less than a 100 because it was so bad, also no one even knew about it) then there was a promo which had as stated about 4-500 hits and I saw it after the FR-link was up for many hours.
The danged video was a non issue then, non issue now, what the president did and didn’t do in his little lying election year will , I HOPE, take him and his cronies down for good.
The video is a moot point to begin with.
We do not go about apologizing to attackers of our diplomats.
How do so many miss this point?

That is the truth however WH will say it proves they believed video was to blame and they wanted to take action to prevent OTHER consulates from being attacked. You wait. They will use it to their advantage.

Yup. The regime pissed on the 1st Amendment as cover for the murder of 4 US Citizens, and few gave a damn.

They were apologizing to Egypt before anyone knew about the video and before anyone was killed.
Who is Pastor Jon? Nakoula Basseley is the the video maker who was jailed.
I believe Hillary had aready blamed the video for the earlier attack in Egypt, so the story (probably prepared in advance to cover up any 9/11 attacks) was already planned for use.
That’s what I was thinking. They are talking about a different video. They must have found the Nikoula video afterward and decided it fit the narrative better.
I think that pastor in Florida who burned a Koran was named John.
