Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer: Obama Acts Unilaterally in 6 Weeks if House Doesn't Pass Amnesty
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | May 22, 2014 | Tony Lee

Posted on 05/23/2014 4:06:55 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

On Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) gave House Republicans six weeks to pass amnesty legislation before President Barack Obama starts to use executive actions to ease deportations and change immigration laws.

“We’ve waited 329 days, we’re willing to wait another six weeks,” Reid said, according to Politico. “But at the end of six weeks, if something hasn’t been done, then there’s gonna have to be a move made. And it’s too bad we have to do that, because we all know things can be done administratively, but it’s better to change the law.”

Schumer, who has previously said there could be legislation by "June or July," concurred.

“They have about a six-week window, from June 10 after the last Republican primary until the August recess. If they don’t pass immigration reform them, the president will have no choice but to act on his own,” he said, according to The Hill.

Schumer, along with Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), has said that this year is the last chance to pass sweeping amnesty legislation. The New York Democrat has also suggested that Congress pass the Senate's amnesty bill, which the Congressional Budget Office determined would lower the wages of American workers, but delay the implementation of it until Obama leaves office in 2017. Reid also endorsed Schumer's suggestion, which would give amnesty to all illegal immigrants who arrived in the country before 2014.

House Republicans have said they would not proceed on amnesty legislation until they could trust Obama to enforce the nation's immigration laws....

Pass what obama wants or obama will do what he wants. That’s some choice theyve given us.

The real reason why theyre so hot and bothered to pass an amnesty bill is because of the upcoming elections. Got to get those new democrat voters in place.

May as well send them home and let the Marxist Moslem rule by dictat and remove all pretense of being a Constitutional Republic. We haven’t been for a long time now, anyway.

Why? Whats going to happen in six weeks if neither side lifts a finger to do anything at all? Is the sky going to fall?

Since when has this Administration given a second thought to the law before acting (illegally) Administratively?

I'd say get the articles of impeachment ready, but we all know Boehner doesn't have the balls to do it.......

Of course he does. He is the most brilliant, intelligent, omniscient being that has ever held the office.

He is so brilliant that he’s beyond the Constitution which constrains him and prevents his brilliance and wisdom from from shining through to save the human race.

Who is going to stop him?

The R’s don’t have the balls to do anything.

About the only ‘chance’ the R’s have is if their constituents let Boehner and McConnell know that if a LOT of things don’t change in the next few weeks, they will definitely be voting for the D.

Better to give up the seat rather than have a do nothing Poseur Puppet representing ‘us’.

Saddest part is like them or not, they wield enough power to maintain their leadership positions. And if the R’s lose, no one really wants to stand up and take the ‘heat’ from ‘us’ - even though it proves time and again, that ‘our heat’ - in the big picture - virtually means nothing when ‘they’ get back to their district....

If I were an ‘R’ in either of their districts, they would sure have to be doing a lot of ‘work’ to just convince me to stay home and NOT vote at all, and if they don’t get off their collective asses, go out and vote for the D.

People are missing the point. It's great to have all this outrage about presidential over reach but no one is addressing the big picture.

If amnesty goes through before the 2014 election and these people can vote, it will make a difference. If amnesty goes through and these people can vote in 2016 it's all over for the republic.

The 'Rats have recognized that the only thing that can save them from a bloodbath in November is the GOP doing something incredibly stupid.

Ergo, try to force Boehner and the House leadership into doing something incredibly stupid.

Will the Republican base shouting in one ear be enough to overcome Harry Reid and the Chamber of Commerce whispering sweet nothings in the other ear?

The Republic is on the line...

Reminds me of a Russian statement years ago to the effect that if the right candidate wasn't going to win, they would call off the ‘election’.

If Congress is only for show - and power lies with the President - abolish Congress. Why spend money on a bunch of fakes?

And while we're at it, let's offer 60 million Chinese citizenship if they promise to vote Republican? Then we can pompously turn to Democrats and tell them they should court the NRA vote if they want to win future elections.

I suspect the suck-up idiots at the New York Times and Washington Post would ‘catch’ that we're not totally sincere about our ‘Asian Dreamers’... No more sincere than the Democrats... who's excuses and lies they buy forever.

“The R’s don’t have the balls to do anything.”

They want immigration reform. They want to legalize all the undocumented.

They just want to do it in such a way that absolves them of complicity.

The GOP and the Dems are on the same page on this and on many other issues.

While our “news media” (yes, I use the term news jokingly) feast on weather, climate, Redskins, racebaiting, and other silly diversions, the drivers of the US march on completing their tasks.

Our nation and our freedoms have been usurped by a class of political elites, who stand in awe of Barack HUSSEIN 0bama. They never in their wildest, self serving dreams imagined simply RULING the American people.

And he does it. He doesn’t even make any attempt to hide it. He even tells us all before he does it, like a stern teacher, or boss giving you a “choice” that is no choice at all.

The Political Elite worships at his feet.

Another unilateral presidential move?

Golly, Obmama is s-o-o-o-o-o anxious to get those illegal youngsters across the border.

And remember how Obama's "Deferred Action for (ahem) Children" was praised? Seems when kiddy "Dreamers" called on Democrats to pressure Obama to bring in more of them, the kids had a receptive audience.

Lordy, those priapic Dem pedophiles practically salivated at the thought of the Dreamers' and their underage little brothers and sisters.

Heck, the Obama Admin is setting-up comfy-cozy privacy ahelters at an Air Force base for latino youngsters who crossed the Border all alone. (The kiddies' parents shooed 'em across as Dems passed out $10 dollar bills per kiddie.).

Watta guy. Obama helpfully imports young partners for open-minded lib/prog pedophiles on Capitol Hill----and provides tax-funded places for their diversions.

Is this not tolerant and compassionate progressive government at its finest?

Nice deconstruction.

The political gamesmanship is reflective of Democrats' desperation about upcoming elections that threaten to wrest from their hot little hands, the all-consuming power they desperately cling to. They will say anything, and do anything, to hang on to total power.

It's some consolation to know that history is replete with failed power-mongers----the people are soon onto their game and in a flash, they are gone. There was Peron, Mussolini, Ceasescu, and the little house-painter in 1940's era Europe. Most of them met an unenviable end.
