Border residents fear message on mysterious billboards

EL PASO, Texas -- El Paso police are investigating two mysterious billboards that appeared just off I-10, each with a mannequin hanging from a noose. .

“It’s not an advertisement,” said Mike Mons, regional manager for Lamar Outdoor advertising.

The first vandalized billboard off I-10 had Plata o Plomo in large black letters which translates into silver or lead. It is usually a warning targeting police or government officials in Mexico. The warning: work with a cartel and take a bribe or get a bullet.

The hanging mannequin was dressed in a suit and tie.

“This symbol has historically been used by Mexican drug cartels to threaten or intimidate Mexican citizens, business owners and government officials; however, we have never experienced this in El Paso,” said police in a statement released to media.

“Maybe the problems in Juarez are coming over here,” said Javier Padilla, an El Paso resident.

“Oh, that’s horrible,” said Maria Ramos, his wife looking at a photograph of a stuffed hanging mannequin.

Two of her relatives were murdered across the border in Ciudad Juarez in 2009. Real bodies have been found hanging from overpasses in that Mexican city.

The mannequins hanging from nooses mimic real drug violence in Mexico and the images in El Paso spread quickly on social media.

So, anyone think that when U.S. citizens start shooting Mexican drug cartel members that BHO2 will ignore the threat to his supporters income?

The Rioja drug family (of Chicago) has been operating since the 1960s, supporting the Democrats, and receiving protection in return.

It isn't just George Soros supporting this regime.

Investigators suspect it might be the work of an activist group questioning the war on drugs.

Sure. I'll buy that for a dollar.

The cartels are already here. They run a majority of the interstate drug trafficking. Anybody, especially from the government, that tells you differently is lying.

The Mexican looks at our laws as a joke. Our own government is turning the rule of law into a farce.

When some criminal organization gets too big for its britches, in past the FBI has sent them a message to cool it. Not necessarily to stop being criminals, but to keep it out of public view.

What few people realize is that criminals and the police follow their own set of rules. They do so to keep the bloodshed down. If they follow the rules, criminals will be arrested and put into prison. If they don’t, the criminals don’t make it to trial.

Soon the Mexican drug cartels will just as bad up here as they are in Mexico as they can freely cross the border.

What is the problem? This is the type of illegal aliens that Obama wants to give amnesty to.

Not to worry, folks. Nothing to see here. Congressman Joe "Communism works" Garcia has assured us the safest city in America is El Paso, Texas., so this is all meaningless.

Interesting, and from what I have seen America descend to, believable.

Yeah, I know they’re already here. They tried to stay under the radar, so to speak. Now they no longer will do so but will come out and operate in the open.

I’ve always suspected that powerful politicians are a part of the drug cartels. That’s why, particularly in Texas, they do not want to put tighter controls on the border.
