House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., repeatedly put the blame for the Veterans Affairs scandal on former President George W. Bush, while arguing that her party has worked hard for veterans in recent years.
Pelosi took a shot at Bush while saying that the scandal is a high priority for Obama. "He sees the ramifications of some seeds that were sown a long time ago....

I’m surprised she didn’t blame the Jews.
you ask a GREAT question and it could rupture nutty nan’s two remaining brain cells if she thought about it.
*it could rupture nutty nans two remaining brain cells if she thought about it.*
I knew this was coming as soon as they started pushing the story that Obama was notified about the VA problem when he took office.
Millions Nancy? Read this my silly, Liberal dear. It’s less than a million that have been used the VA health care system.
“—711,986 have used VA health care between fiscal year 2002 and the third-quarter fiscal year 2011.—”
“In the decade since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, 2,333,972 American military personnel had been deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan or both, as of Aug. 30,2011. Of that total, 1,353, 627 have since left the military and — 711,986 have used VA health care between fiscal year 2002 and the third-quarter fiscal year 2011.—”
Are Warren Harding and Richard Nixon to blame, too?
FACT#1: VA spending nearly tripled from 2000 to 2013, while the population of veterans declined by 4.3 million.
FACT#2: wounded warriors coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan are not increasing treatment costs. Those vets are actually far cheaper to treat than aging vets. A Congressional Budget Office report found that they cost $4,800, on average, in 2010 compared with $8,800 for other veterans who used the system.
FACT#3: Iraq and Afghan vets account for 7 percent of those treated, but they were responsible for only 4 percent of its health costs. Iraq and Afghan vets are typically younger and healthier than the average VHA patient and as a result are less expensive to treat.
Suck-it, you liar Pelosi.
1. Hillary Clinton
2. Moanica Lewdinsky
She has two? Who would have thought!
Nan is as vile a creature as creation has ever seen.
Quit sugar-coatin' it and tell us how you REALLY feel. :o)
Bush didn’t lie about WMDs either, it all took place in the Clinton Administration. The fault lies squarely on President Clinton’s shoulders!
President found out on TV that the story about WMDs was not true and he is angry as hell and will launch an investigation.
It’s so sad that some people are so brainwashed that they’ll buy this line of crap.
Everyone seems to agree that wait times has been a problem for decades, fine then will someone tell me what has changed?
Why now has this exploded?
Many times in situations like these people might say follow the money,in that vein, can someone tell me when did this policy of paying bonuses to people for shortening waiting lists begin? It seems to me these bonuses were the incentive to have a secret list so as to make things look better than they were
Perhaps, but there's never been a more worthless one.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
The “surge” in applications for VA health services comes not only from the Iraq and Afghanistan military engagements, but in large part from aging veterans of the Vietnam War, who are now entering their retirement years with long-term health problems incurred during or shortly after their service deployment to Viet Nam. These are the guys dying of untreated cancers and respiratory problems.
I am surprised that Jean-Francois Kerre` has not himself applied for VA treatment. He earned a Purple Heart in Viet Nam, where he served, you know.
Let’s give President Obama credit.....he proposed to make veterans buy their own health insurance while the Dems voted to cut retirement benefits for veterans
It is clear how much President Obama loves veterans!
this lady has just enough brain energy to keep her heart beating and when she speaks (lies) it taxes vital energy necessary for the functioning of her heart. She really ought to be more concerned about her heart health.
Ulysses S. Grant might share a little in the blame - there are probably cases not yet closed hanging around from the Civil War.

DO NOT DENIGRATE THAT WORD!!!!
President Grant is to blame. Grants fault.
Liberal are fantastic at the blame game. They blame Bush, Koch, Republicans, Tea Party, Palin...I think they have flash cards with their favorites to blame and just pull them out randomly when anything goes wrong.
Kerry served in Vietnam? I knew the French had been there but didn’t think they were still around then.
Like Obama and Reid, Pelosi does nothing and I mean nothing. When things go wrong, she then whines and blames Bush or any Republican in sight. She is somewhere between useless and worthless. All she does causes harm.
This woman is embarrassingly stupid, but too stupid to be embarrassed.
Her next press conference will announce that Bush is a Jew.
It would be nice if some Republican somewhere would make that point. Talk about a golden opportunity squandered.
WHY NOT blame Bush??
It’s not like anyone in the non-FOX mainstream media is going to dare to question her on it.
Not if they want to keep that cushy media job, anyway....
Welcome to The New Amerikka, folks.
it is time to actually end fedgov. just shut the entire damn thing down for a few years. everything. call the military back, protect the borders against anyone not a citizen, patrol our waters, keep military going, but everything else, all the alphabet agencies, just shut it all damn down. tell all the fedpols from president on down to gtfo now, you’re all fired.
I got a letter from the VA day informing me that I should call and make an appointment for a “follow up”. The letter starts out “this is not an appointment”. It should have started out “This is a cover-our-asses letter.”
Anyone else get one?
Hell, even overworked fields used to allowed to lie fallow for a year.
What about overworked people?
It seems to me these bonuses were the incentive to have a secret list so as to make things look better than they were
There is something wrong with that man
i figured that nutty nan must have two working brain cells left since she talks to herself a lot.
IMHO, the problems are endemic to the institution.
The movie Article 99 came out in 1992, based upon fiction novel written in 1978 (The House of God, the Novel), describes many of the issues being posed, although those were set in medical facilities mirroring Mass General and Harvard Medical School grads.
Similar stories were told in the MASH movie and series, which were based upon the 1968 book by an Army Surgeon who wrote about his experiences in the Korean War.
Whenever people try to regulate grace, legalism interferes with charity.
Send this immediately to Pelosi.
I am sure the problems at the VA long predate GW Bush.
Everyone is so reticent to be charged with “bashing” “Veterans” that unless the sh&*^% hits the fan over something at the VA, the VA bureaucracy just keeps running on autopilot, and VA programs may come and go, but how the VA operates probably seldom changes very much.
The VA needs a stronger IG and one more directly in tune with the clients at VA facilities.
There is a Patient Advocate system in the VA with a PA office in each VA facility. The problem is the PAs report to the local VA facility’s director. In other words, the local director can be sure that dirt coming from the PA does not get any notice above them.
Instead, the PAs in the VA need to be reporting to and working for the VA’s IG, and the IG needs to be brought annually before Congress with a report that includes and summarizes what the IG has learned from the PAs and what the IG has found concerning those things and what the IG thinks the VA has or has not done in response to them. Such a system would have noted and lifted up the delays annually a long time ago and then there would be no question when they began and how long they have persisted.
Don’t forget, the VA’s budget, from what I hear was just doubled for next fiscal year...From 84 billion, to 154 billion...
That will buy a lot more malfeasance and inefficiency, and deaths for that matter...
At least a few more “desks” for the non-doctors in the VA to work at...
BTW, “work” for a desk jockey, in this case, is such a loose term...
OK - let's use the "long ago" meme. Nancy, how long have you and some of your cronies been around???
“Its so sad that some people are so brainwashed that theyll buy this line of crap.”
Romney was right about the 47%, but not just because their votes were bought & paid for. For a majority of Americans, Pelosi’s comments will be the only explanation they ever get for the VA problems. I have no sympathy for Americans in general; they are getting what they deserve. The increases in crime in neighboring Newark NJ are a vindication of everyone who voted against Barack Hussein Obama; let “his peeps” pay the steepest price.
