This always gets real contentious here, but I still think Mitch McConnell is better than the Democrat. Mitch’s conservative ratings are not nearly as bad as some claim. I know some say Mitch games his votes so as to appear more conservative, but when it counts, he’s against us. Nevertheless, I think it’s better to keep this Republican senate seat. That does not mean we have to support Mitch as leader BTW.

One thing that grates on me in particular is the way Mitch came down on the tea party. Like many in the GOPe, they seem to reserve their worst ire for conservatives rather than Democrats. That bothers me...a lot. On the other hand, the tea party conservatives didn’t exactly play kissy kiss with Mitch. We, in fact, pretty much declared war on him, and he fought back as anyone would do.

Now it’s up to Mitch McConnell to make peace. Based on his prior votes, he’s at least 80% our ally. That’s good enough for me even though I know my attitude will piss some FReepers off. My philosophy is to give ‘em hell in the primaries and then pick the best possible candidate to advance the conservative agenda. If someone can make a plausible case for the Democrat being better for that (advancing conservatism), I’ll listen, but otherwise I’m sticking with the GOPe in cases like this (Exception: House races where we really can afford to sacrifice a seat or two to take down a RINO).

A lot of people won't vote for the liberal republican anymore. More and more are starting to see that they have to get rid of those like Mitch who enable Reid's agenda. They are taking the long-range, strategic view.

Voting for the 'lesser evil' has proven to not lead the country to more conservative governance.

To each his own. Rand Paul did not trash conservatives in KY.
McConnell did.
So why is McConnell hiding behind Paul to do his “peace” thing you
mention?

The fact is there is not enough Bushites like you in KY to save McConnell
if just a small percent of KY conservatives sit it out.

McConnell only won his last election by 6%.
6% is not much.
And that was BEFORE he trashed and then bragged about crushing
them.

I hope KY conservatives help McConnell apply for a job at Trent Lott’s
Lobbying Firm. We shall see won’t we?

Give who hell in the primaries,,fellow conservatives? I see you have a reasonable attitude.

You are a better person than I am. I hope Mitch loses his AZZ. You can’t bash and boast about *crushing* a movement and then turn around and talk all sweet and expect those you threw away to come back and forget your abuse. Not you personally. I’m talking about McConnell.

He can KMA

I think it's more important to make an object lesson out of Mitch McConnell than it is to keep the seat Republican. If the Tea Party does not demonstrate some power to affect elections, then they will be widely regarded as a non-factor on the political stage.

The NRA is one of the most successful lobbying groups ever. What makes them successful is that everyone in politics knows that if you cross them, they will go over to the opposition party and throw their support behind them. The NRA takes heads. It DEFEATS candidates who defy it. This is how an organization gains RESPECT in politics.

The Tea Party of Kentucky *HAS* to make an example out of Mitch McConnell, or it will have demonstrated itself to be a toothless paper tiger, and not just in Kentucky. If they allow Mitch McConnell to get away with his boasts, challenges and mockery, it will cast a shadow of weakness across all the other States Tea Parties as well.

The price of letting Mitch McConnell get away with it will be far higher than just one Senate seat.

My philosophy is to give ‘em hell in the primaries .

I have three Conservative friends in KY. They said Mitch's ads were disgusting lies. They can't stand Mitch.

Two of them stated they will vote for Grimes, I haven't heard from the third.

Mitch has shown himself to be a blood enemy of Conservatives.

and then pick the best possible candidate to advance the conservative agenda

The best possible candidate to advance the conservative agenda is to vote for Grimes!!!!!! By all means Mitch MUST be destroyed politically.

Mitch HATES the Tea Party and HATES Conservationism.

Mitch rabidly worships at the Alter of State Power

I am expecting us to win the Senate along with the vile Mitch losing his seat.

2012 was the very last time I will vote for a RINO..

Easy to make conservative vote when you know the bill won't pass.

Voting records mean almost nothing, else how did we get to this point?
