Responding to the ever-widening "secret death list" Veterans Affairs (VA) scandal, on of the Senate's leading liberals has not only blocked legislation aimed at fixing fundamental problems within the VA's health care system, he's also let little doubt to exactly how he feels of the accusation that scores of vets have died due to administrative cover-ups that have resulted in medical care being needlessly withheld. As reported by The Washington Free Beacon on May 22, 2014, Vermont's junior US Senator, Bernard "Bernie" Sanders, has effectively frozen in committee the Veterans Affairs Management Accountability Act (VAMAA), which was aimed at giving the Secretary of Veterans Affairs sweeping power in clearing out bureaucratic dead wood.
In what many veterans reasonably take as adding insult to injury, the Green Mountain State's senator very matter-of-factly said in a CNN interview (via News Busters) earlier this month "people die every day," giving the distinct impression he was was making an attempt to downplay the 40 patients deaths earlier this month in the VA's Phoenix, Arizona facility.

Well there you have it!
Answer when responding to a question about helping a sick child who has cancer.

Technically he’s not a dem, he’s a socialist I know piking the nit.
Sure, people die every day. But does the death of even one have to be hastened without the exercise of due diligence to see that the passing is both with the greatest compassion that may be generated, and in circumstances that reflect some dignity for the individual?
There shall be instances in which this due diligence cannot be exercised, but those should have at least sincere expressions of regret to, and some empathy for the survivors.
Remember, the whole thrust of “environmentalism” is that there are just too damned many people alive on this planet right now, and swift megadeath is the only “solution” for Gaia.
But if it has to be one at a time, then so be it. The “environmentalists” still cheer any premature death.
Obvious response ness aside. This is how veterans take it. They’re patient, deferential and used to facing suffering and death
This situation is about how the country treats her veterans, and this Vermont leader points out the answer for many
Hope someday soon we can pose the question,
“Did you know that Bernie Sanders’ grave is a commie plot?”
(His cold remark deserves likewise IMO)
“Unbelievable that people would even vote to elect such people! God help us, our Veterans and families deserve better then this. “
I guess you haven’t visited Vermont yet! Burlington has all the “old world charm” of East Germany and the bums on the street to compete the picture. I guess it’s where all the useless human trash from Boston ends up.
It started with abortion, where will it end?
He told her they would giver her a pain killer.
Not pain pill, pain killer. Kill-her. Obama's first thought...
Bernie Sanders is a Socialist who caucuses with the rats.
Well, that's true Bernie. It's even true that people are killed by the Federal bureaucracy every day, but that doesn't mean that that those responsible shouldn't be prosecuted for murder.
Despicable!
Looks like the president of the Tar & Feather Party will be calling this @$$hole tuesday.
And he says this on Memorial day?! Did I call him an @$$hole yet?
I am convinced Sanders agrees with Stalin: “The death of one man is a tragedy, the death of millions is a statistic.” Sanders would GLADLY have millions of us die to further their God damn communist cause.
Yes, Bernie, but much too often, it's the wrong people...
May you get your just rewards.
The Death Panels are the unspoken fix for Social Security and VA/Medicare budget problems.
When the millenials get snarky over grandma’s premature demise, the regime will roll out some Groupons for student loan remission.
It's only fair. Many of us don't have a problem with liberals dying.
Not all Liberals, mind you, but certainly the low IQ ignorant, arrogant ones, like Bernie.
The problems with VA health care has a very quick remedy; require that our elected representatives (Congressmen, Senator, their families, and staffs) be required to only use the nearest VA Hospital for all their health care needs...and there are no head of the line privileges.
As we watch the number of our elected representatives who actually served in the military (or some other public service) decline each year, this increasing majority have no idea what was involved or the sacrifices our service required.
Sad, but we keep electing them....over and over...perhaps that should change also.
We need a fix to the situation, loping heads and pointing fingers are not going to fix the problem. The media and the politicians will get their mileage, and then it will fade away and slip below the waves.
As much as I doubt it, perhaps someone (100 Senators + 435 Representative + 1 President) will step forward and champion a real solution, but sadly I doubt it.....
The only thing dumber then the elected people in Olympia and Washington DC are the people who keep electing the same idiots into the new Government Aristocracy that we keep perpetuating.
