I agree with everything you said..when the Sheriff mentioned how the perp kept on getting away from the cops, I thought to myself “WOW seriously, who was chasing him, Barney Fife?”
To question B..yes I would also like to know how someone with NO job was able to afford three guns(Got them from three different gun shops)
After reading some of his manifesto, sounds like he is a closet homo..his hatred of women, him saying how no woman will sleep with him(He could have gone to hookers if he wanted sex so badly they will sleep with anyone) could have gone to Tijuana and gotten the same action..he is your typical leftist, blames everyone but himself, is full of entitlement, thinks the world revolves around him..heck I wouldnt be surprised if he bought those guns using an EBT card, anyone check to see if he was receiving welfare benefits?

His father was an assistant director for the movie Hunger Games. I’m pretty sure the spoiled, evil, entitled little brat got a bunch of money from his father to pay for his BMW and the guns and ammo.
Not only that but his father, who produced movies with gun violence, has the nerve to blame the gun for what his son did..how about blaming the knife for the three men his son killed..you know what is sad here, those three men won’t be heard about again, they probably won’t even release their names, it will be like they never existed

Also, student of what at college? Did he go to class regularly? What kind of grades? Any clubs or societies? Any run-ins with campus cops or admin? Demonstrate or protest anything? Scrawny little scum, was he a vegan?

My deputy SIL did rifle qual last week. He maxed the course with a perfect score. I think he can shoot better than these guys. Maybe drive better, too.

Well we know he had run ins with the cops three times..the first time was involving some kind of assault he was involved in..the second time in Jan of this year he filed a complaint against his roommate(I presume one of the three that were stabbed to death) for stealing 20 dollars worth of candles(WOW those candles must have been something special) and the 3rd time the end of April of this year, they went to his apt on a welfare check where the police said he was a “Polite young man”
and I think it should be said now..RIP to those three roommates who were brutally stabbed to death by this entitled filled punk..these three men will never be heard about again, because the means in which they died does not fit the media’s gun grabbing agenda

The candle thing was weird. That may be all they were but what if-—— purely hypothetical———drugs could be stashed inside remelted scented candles? Could dogs detect them?
Not sure but what straight person makes a fuss about candles that is worth 20 bucks..that is what he got upset about, 22 dollars for candles(Pottery Barn is such a rip off LOL) have you ever heard such a thing, a grown man making a fuss about 2 candles
Well, I stayed up and read the whole flippin’ thing. I keep trying to understand why people do such insane things.
The common thread I see is narcissim, illusions of grandeur and a total disconnect from reality. But I guess a lot of people suffer from the same...but don’t go over the edge.
If what this “manifesto” says is true...he never even really approached a woman. I guess he just thought they should swoon over him.
The scary thing is...there are so many like him that teeter on the edge.
My understanding from what I’ve read is that this man was troubled for a very long time. The pics I see of him as a little boy...there is something off about him in all of them. He never smiles or looks at all happy like kids do. And the pic when he was in 5th grade with the dyed blonde hair...that just ain’t right either. His mother seems to have been distant from him in some way which could affect the way he thought of all women...as abandoning. Then again he could be a Mussie seeing his mother is Malaysian or he might have picked up on Mussie things from her. They aren’t known for liking women much either.
His father looks to me like an Old Hippie who still hasn’t grown up. With all of his $$$ he could have done what many parents with lesser means cannot do...force/commit his disturbed son into a good treatment center for the duration (whatever it takes). Yet daddy didn’t do that but bought the kid a new BMW instead.
Having said that I do not believe this man had Aspergers which falls somewhere on the Autism spectrum. As of late we all are being casually labeled as Autistic in exactly the way we were all labeled as having ADD/ADHD 20 years ago. That is NOT to say that some people do not genuinely suffer with Autism. They do.
And while it is important to note that daddy had sonny rooming with 2 or 3 other young men in a special housing unit for troubled (?) young men...that in no way was treatment OR monitoring of a son he knew was very dangerous. That was daddy pushing sonny off on someone else’s watch which was the same behavior daddy repeated in reporting sonny’s video’s to the police.
The police are not qualified to diagnose people for mental problems or are they able to commit people for treatment nor are they able to arrest anyone until that person commits a crime. So reporting sonny’s bizarre videos to the police was a meaningless gesture on daddy’s part. I see it as sort of washing his hands of any responsibility.
Finally this criminal was not IMO mentally ill. Mentally ill denotes things like a break with reality...like hearing voices or seeing hallucinations. This guy had no trouble making videos...strange though they be...even while driving his BMW and he had no trouble formulating and carrying out mass murder and even selected exactly the victims he preferred to kill.
What he was was a long list of just about every and any Personality Disorder available. Certainly he was Narcissistic and Sociopathic (look how he charmed the police). I’d throw in a little Borderline Personality perhaps and possibly some Histrionic behavior...he did seem to like not just attention (Narcissism) but also a lot of emotional drama.
Bottom Line: Mental Illness can be treated, managed, maintained, and sometimes possibly cured with treatment and medication. People suffering from mental illness are generally speaking miserable and desperately want to feel better and are not adverse to treatment.
Personality Disorders cannot be treated because those with the disorders don’t think there’s anything wrong with them and they resist both the label and the treatment. The way he is right now (dead) is about the best outcome possible...at least for the rest of society.
Reliance on video games as escape evident. Almost too obvious in his “diary”.
Almost like talking points. I am reading his “diary” now. He writes “detached” from his life.
His early writings from age 4 are quite lucent. Not until end of Jr Hi and frequent mention of video games and his physical stature does he start to show signs of problems.

It is. I was wondering before I started reading if he had conflict with his Stepmother. Very sad. One thing that I don’t understand, is why his Father would force his children to go over and stay at his house (for his parenting time), when he wasn’t even going to be there and at a young age they had to stay with the Stepmother versus their own mother? It sounds like he felt very forgotten in his Father’s world.
Sons roommates were Asian. Interesting because his Mother is Asian by birth.
Have to believe there were psychotropic drugs in play here. which tend to do more damage than good many times especially in adolescents.
Stepmother was in the French-language version of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”. (something like that)

I think that the naked woman in Peter Rodger’s (father of shooter) photos around the world, is his wife (Elliot’s stepmother). If those pics are of his wife (she was reportedly a dancer at one time), it makes it more creepy to me that he’s shooting those and selling those pics (then son gets to see stepmother sans clothes, and so do his friends, etc)
If there are Drugs involved, that will be the last thing we hear about, if at all.

I’m probably way off, but it seemed to me like he was writing how he wanted his life to be perceived by others. At one point toward the end, I almost wondered if he was the author. Or I would get to the final paragraph and the piece would be signed by someone else. His mother suggested at one time that he become a writer. He figured that he couldn’t get anything published or to a screen play in time to make bucket loads of money.
Based on what he wrote, I really don’t think he was gay, had bad parents, crummy therapists, inattentive police interaction. It sure wasn’t the fault of the gun...good grief.
I’m no psyche major, but I’m willing to bet that even if he had blondes hanging all over him, tons of money and everything he thought he desired in life...he would have still been a kook. There was some component missing in him that most people have. There are probably many like him that don’t slip over the edge.
True, I had that same feeling when I got to the end of the “Epilogue”.
He did take it to the extreme. I wonder if he had gotten caught the many times he threw his “tea” or “latte” at someone, if that might have been the end point and he got some sort of help.
