That entity is the Democrat Party.
The objections to reparations are numerous, but the principal one if justice. How is it just to make totally innocent people pay?
By making the Democrat Party pay, that objection disappears entirely. The Democrats were in fact and are in fact the entity responsible for every bad thing which happened to black people for decades and decades.
And it is the entire Democrat Party which is responsible. The hatred fostered by the party was a necessary aspect of national Democrat success. Heck, no one from the party has even apologized for what the party did to black folks and to America through the advocacy of racial injustice.
YES! I am very much in favor of reparations, if paid by the Democrat Party.
The Democrats need racial hatred to keep their party strong which is why they foster it whenever possible. Men like Al Sharpton, Jessee Jackson, and William Holder are essentially tasked with stirring the much whenever possible. Thinks about the Trayvon Martin Zimmerman thing. Why do we even know about one wanna-be gang-banger getting popped by an over-zealous neighborhood watch dude? Furthermore, why was this couced in the media as a black vs white thing? The Democrats need this stuff, that’s why.
If there truly was meaningful racism in this country, how can you explain the success of Asians and of blacks who were born in other countries? You can’t!!! Most poverty in this country starts with a bad state of mind and then gets perpetuated by politicians who take advantage of the same bad state of mind.
Finally, there are certainly and unfortuantely racists in our society, but there are also black gangs. Neither extreme paints close to an accurate picture of whites or blacks.

Reparations are yet another means to spread the hatred.
But there must be a countervailing meme, based on facts and on justice, that the Democrat Party owes black Americans billions of dollars in reparations.

Zactly. People like Herman Cain, Allen West, Tm Scott, etc. scare the Dickens out of the Democrats. Herman Cain said as a candidate that he could get 1/3 of the black vote. That is political death for the Dems!
The Dem answer to that is amnesty. Fortunately, the idiots did not realize this until recently or they would have passed an amnesty bill first instead of Obamacare.

I’ve seen it argued before that the Democrat party should be on the hook for reparations and I think it’s a great argument. Seems like an effective debate ender for shutting up the reparations crowd. Reparations is silly, but if you’re going to do it, it makes the most sense to hold the Democrat party accountable. It was Democrats who opposed Lincoln. It was Democrats who opposed the civil rights movement. If you want max correlation between deed and doer, go after the Democrat party.

Good point. Reparations should come from the Democrat Party and should not be paid to persons just because of their skin color. Many persons are not descendants of slaves even though their skin is dark brown. Many persons whose skin is dark brown are descendants of persons who sold slaves to slavers. They should pay too.
It's a stupid idea, regardless of who proposes it or who gets put on the hook for it.

To propose a payment to the surviving relatives of persons who may or may not have been "owned" by certain persons, who may or may not have been active participants in a horrific practice from 150 years ago, is simply ludicrous.
To even discuss this bullshit is ludicrous.
Slavery is and was wrong, wrong, wrong...but the pure and absolute fact is that I never owned a slave and whether my political support lies with the republicans or democrats matters not.

Affirmative Action, set-asides, black studies departments, Section 8, SNAP, EBT, Pigford, etc. are all methods used to reditribute wealth from Whitey to Blackey.
Ask not when Reparations will begin but when the bill will be marked Paid in Full.
