White House Mistakenly Identifies CIA Chief in Afghanistan Name sent to 6000 reporters)
The Washington Post ^ | Sunday, May 25, 2014 | Greg Miller

The CIA’s top officer in Kabul was exposed Saturday by the White House when his name was inadvertently included on a list provided to news organizations of senior U.S. officials participating in President Obama’s surprise visit with U.S. troops.

The White House recognized the mistake and quickly issued a revised list that did not include the individual, who had been identified on the initial release as the “Chief of Station” in Kabul, a designation used by the CIA for its highest-ranking spy in a country.

The Post is withholding the name of the CIA officer at the request of Obama administration officials...

The list was circulated by e-mail to reporters who traveled to Afghanistan with Obama, and disseminated further when it was included in a “pool report,” or summary of the event meant to be shared with other news organizations, including foreign media, not taking part in the trip.

In this case, the pool report was filed by Washington Post White House bureau chief Scott Wilson. Wilson said he had copied the list from the e-mail provided by White House press officials and included it in a report that was sent to a distribution list with more than 6,000 recipients.

Wilson said that after the report was distributed, he noticed the unusual reference to the station chief and asked White House press officials in Afghanistan whether they had intended to include that name.

Initially, the press office raised no objection, apparently because military officials had provided the list to distribute to news organizations. But senior White House officials realized the mistake and scrambled to issue an updated list without the CIA officer’s name. The mistake, however, already was being noted on Twitter, although without the station chief’s name.

It was not a “mistake”. It was deliberate.

There have been 6 Memorial Day celebrations since he took office.

How many has Obama attended at Arlington? I don’t recall him having 100% attendance.

Now, he make a surprise visit to Afghanistan, and that precluded him from attending services at Arlington today......How convenient.

Along with him being a no-show at church in over 5 years, he doesn’t attend services such as today at Arlington & the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

How many MUSLIM events will he attend in Afghanistan???

Let’s see if 6,000 reporters can keep a secret.

And all of those that THEY leaked to as well. By now it's gone viral.

Obama's Failure to Meet With Karzai Seen as Snub By Many Afghans

Last-Minute Invitation to Mr. Karzai to Attend Obama Visit to Bagram Air Field Seen as Offensive

Maybe we'd better off not complaining when Barack is playing golf or shooting hoops.

Scooter Libby went to jail. And he wasn’t even guilty.

I say the press lets this go. What a surprise.

Do you think any network will draw the scooter parallel?

It’s reasonble to ponder why Obozo wants the top CIA chief in Afghanistan dead at this exact time.

Related to this:

"U.S. intelligence officers say, there is deep division within their ranks–and with the White House—about the strength of al Qaeda in the place where that war began: Afghanistan. The current estimate of the terror group’s presence there says that al Qaeda has a little more than 100 fighters in the country’s province of Kunar. That, these intelligence officers contend, is wildly out of date. “Al Qaeda has a presence all over Afghanistan today,” a senior U.S. intelligence official told The Daily Beast. “This is the conversation that no one wants to have. What are they going to do after 2014 when most of our troops will be gone?”

I hope the same thing that happen to William Buckley doesn't happen to this guy.

It is said that the terrorist sent President Reagan a video tape of his execution. Battle hardened men wept at what they saw.

This made Obama madder than hell and he’s going to do something about it as soon as an investigation is complete. And if this CIA guy gets killed he’ll REALLY be mad.
