He says the war is at a pivotal moment, with Afghan forces taking over primary responsibility for the security of their country. …

Given a choice of war and dishonor, choosing dishonor again. Guess what follows.

With Karzai turning his back by not meeting with him, I hope all our troops are taken out.

The US would be doing a humanitarian act by defoliating all of the poppy crops in Afghanistan — as we pull out.

Just get our troops the hell out of Afghanistan. The only thing we are accomplishing is getting our troops killed. One month after we leave, the tribes will be back to killing each other and their primitive lifestyle will continue.

Timing?

November elections...those are in November

Years' End...typically Late December.

They will campaign on this as though it were somehow a victory. (Think..."al queda is on the run" for talking pointal equivalence, here)

After we bug out? One suspects, and fears, that Afghanistan might experience the very reciprocal of victory.

Should Putin send the thank-you bouquet to the White House or would you prefer to have them sent somewhere else?

We really don’t have generals, do we.
If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight, even though the ruler forbid it; if fighting will not result is victory, then you must not fight, even at the ruler’s bidding.
— The Art Of War, 10:23
Obama had egg on his face when the positive results of the Fallujah surge (which he opposed as senator) were announced. Imagine a general that followed Sun Tzu’s maxim and did not let opportunities slip away, the least of which was to keep the ambassadors in Benghazi safe?

Churchill said to Chamberlain that when faced with a choice between war and dishonor, when one chooses dishonor then the result will still be war.

This guy destroyed any potential relationship with the people of Iraq, he simply was too arrogant and foolish to allow what was won by the blood of Americans to survive.

He's now going to do the same thing with Afghanistan, pull out, and declare himself the victor over the bodies of the dead.

No doubt the MSM will cheer him and continue to prop the fraud of frauds up.

On Memorial Day we honor the brave dead who helped keep us free. His being CIC might be the greatest slap in the face of history ever.

Shame on America.

I’m sure the AP would love the bouquet, poison gas and all.

And then what?

I didn’t allude to Churchill’s warning to Chamberlain for nothing.

Yeah, we’re leaving because they won’t sign a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) to protect our troops from war crimes and other prosecution.

I’ve never heard of a war won in that fashion. I’m not saying it wasn’t needed, but I just haven’t heard of it.

There will be a round of killings in Afghanistan first after the administration outed the top CIA official there. Any Afghan remotely connected to him is as good as dead.

This surprise visit is in hopes of “showing” how he supports military. After all he has to do something with the VA scandal blowing up in his face.
