'The most extraordinary result in 100 years'

Nigel Farage tonight hailed Ukip's victory in the European elections as the most 'extraordinary result in British politics for 100 years'.

Support for Ukip has surged by more than 12 per cent, outstripping a more modest boost in votes for Labour, while the Lib Dems faced near-wipeout, with some calling for Nick Clegg to resign.

Mr Farage said he was 'proud' of the campaign which has seen him humiliate the Westminster parties, pushing Labour and the Tories into second and third.

As Ukip was triumphing in the UK, across the Channel France’s far-right National Front was on course for a massive victory in European elections tonight as the country swung behind its anti-immigration, anti-EU agenda.

They made a helluva showing.

The UK elections are next year and while I'm CERTAIN the Tories (GOPe in England) would love to have an alliance with UKIP (Tea Party, matured into a real party)...Farage wants nothing to do with them.

Many, if not most Tory voters will be with UKIP in the British general election next year.

I had a thought as I was reading the various articles about UKIPs big win.

Nigel Farage was born in 1964.
Marine le Pen was born in 1968.
Ted Cruz was born in 1970.

I suspect they would all tell you they grew up in the 80s.

By virtue of their date of birth, their formative years were spent under the leadership of Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, and Pope Saint John Paul II.

This could indicate a resurgence of conservative politics worldwide as the Reagan babies are just now into their 40s, typically when we start hearing their names at the national level.

Just a thought.

Churchill, I believe, observed that USA could generally be counted on to do the right thing - after it had tried everything else. UK has millions of aliens now moved in— many or most of which awe still very loyal to a philosophy that they are there to take it over and subjugate or kill the infidel Christians. Same with USA except the political elite in USA is maybe just a couple years behind their UK counterparts in selling their country out. We will now see if the good Brits can repair the damage. Won’t be easy but British history has done it to far less dangerous elements they objected to bring there. So it’s possible, if the British still want to survive and as a free people. And then maybe USA can learn from UK. All the best to the British people.

There is an upcoming by election for a seat in Westminster Parliament (London -the one that counts) on June 5, in Newark.

HERE’S hoping that UKIP can build upon the success of Friday and Today, and ride the wave to capture their first MP as well! ;).

“”What We Stand For

These are anxious and troubled times. As crisis follows crisis, our politicians do nothing in the face of dangers rearing up all around us.

Taxes and Government debt rise. Energy and transport costs soar. Unemployment is too high. The NHS and state education strain under a population increase of 4 million since 2001.

Another wave of uncontrolled immigration comes from the EU (this time Bulgaria and Romania). Yet the political class tells us the EU is good for the UK.

A gulf has opened between the ruling elite and the public. Because they must all follow Brussels diktats, each of the establishment main parties is now so similar voters have no real choice.

The EU controls Immigration, Business and Employment, Financial Services, Fishing, Farming, Energy and Trade. It seeks now to control Law and Order, Foreign Affairs and Tax. Only outside the EU can we start to solve the problems our country faces.
Return Power to the UK

• A vote for UKIP is a vote to leave the EU and recover power over our national life.

• Free trade, but not political union, with our European neighbours. We are the EU’s largest export market: they depend on us for jobs - not the other way around.

• Binding local and national referenda, at the public’s request, on major issues.
Protect Our Borders

• Regain control of our borders and of immigration - only possible by leaving the EU.

• Immigrants must financially support themselves and their dependents for 5 years. This means private health insurance (except emergency medical care), private education and private housing - they should pay into the pot before they take out of it.

• A points-based visa system and time-limited work permits.

• Proof of private health insurance must be a precondition for immigrants and tourists to enter the UK.
Rebuild Prosperity

• Save £55m a day in membership fees by leaving the EU and give British workers first crack at the 800,000 jobs we currently advertise to EU workers.

• No tax on the minimum wage.

• Enrol unemployed welfare claimants onto community schemes or retraining workfare programmes.

• Scrap HS2, all green taxes and wind turbine subsidies.

• Develop shale gas to reduce energy bills and free us from dependence on foreign oil and gas - place the tax revenues into a British Sovereign Wealth Fund.

• UKIP will abolish inheritance tax. Inheritance tax brings in under £4bn - less than a third of what we spend on foreign aid. The super-rich avoid it, while modest property owners get caught by it. It hits people during a time of grief and UKIP will budget in its 2015 spending plans to completely abolish this unfair death tax.

• Make cuts to foreign aid that are real and rigorous.
Safeguard Against Crime

• No cuts to front line policing.

• Make sentences mean what they say.

• No votes for prisoners - that’s what losing your liberty means.

• Prevent foreign criminals entering the UK - by re-introducing border controls that the EU forced us to abandon.

• Scrap the European Arrest Warrant, which sends British citizens to foreign jails without evidence, just to answer questions - replace it with a proper extradition system.

• Remove the UK from the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights.
Care And Support For All

• Open GP surgeries in the evening, for full-time workers, where there is demand.

• Locally-elected County Health Boards to inspect hospitals - to avoid another Stafford Hospital crisis.

• Prioritise social housing for people whose parents and grandparents were born locally.

• Allow the creation of new grammar schools.

• Make welfare a safety net for the needy, not a bed for the lazy. Benefits only available to those who have lived here for over 5 years.
Free Speech and Democracy

• No to Political Correctness - it stifles free speech.

• The law of the land must apply to us all. We oppose any other system of law.

• Teach children positive messages and pride in their country. We want to unite through better integration.

UKIP is a patriotic party that believes in putting Britain first. Only UKIP will return self-government to the British people.””

Look at the results when London is separated from the rest of England, and the narrow margin in Wales...

England Excluding London
Party Vote % Seats
UK Independence Party 3638401 31.50 21
Conservative 2933694 25.40 15
Labour 2659136 23.02 13
Green 906976 7.85 2
Liberal Democrat 815371 7.06 1

London
Party Vote % Seats
Labour 806959 36.67 4
Conservative 495639 22.52 2
UK Independence Party 371133 16.87 1
Green 196419 8.93 1
Liberal Democrat 148013 6.73 0

Wales
Party Vote % Seats
Labour 206332 28.15 1
UK Independence Party 201983 27.55 1
Conservative 127742 17.43 1
Plaid Cymru 111864 15.26 1
Green 33275 4.54 0
Liberal Democrat 28930 3.95 0

Scotland
Party Vote % Seats
Scottish National Party 386193 28.91 2
Labour 346377 25.93 2
Conservative 230569 17.26 1
UK Independence Party 139687 10.46 1
Green 107805 8.07 0
Liberal Democrat 95076 7.12 0

Consider that in the British Parliament... England excluding London has 452 seats. London has 73, Scotland has 52, Wales 30, and N Ireland 18. (N Ireland releases count tomorrow) In England, The UKIP carried everything except London, and the two Northern constituencies on the Scotland Border. Labour only beat UKIP by less than 4400 votes. It is an earthquake.

This might rank up there with the Battle of Tours (732) and the Battle of Vienna (1683) for fights which saved Europe.

Unfortunately, this current battle is not yet over. Here's what I expect to see in the near future:

1. The establishment parties will pretend to adopt some of the UKIP and National Front positions. This will be partially successful.

2. A smear campaign will start against the UKIP and National Front leadership. People will turn up who claim that they heard Farage express an admiration for Hitler. This also will be partially successful.

3. A smear campaign will start against the UKIP and National Front parties themselves. They will be called racists and fascists. Kooky members will be interviewed to prove the point. With the mainstream media behind the smear, this will be very successful.

All the REAL power in Brussels is in the bureaucracy .
If they win seats in the REAL parliament in London, then they can accomplish something.

Exactly. Even in the local council seats where UKIP picked seats up, they haven’t picked up any majorities. UKIP is in charge of arguments in Brussels and a few spoiler votes in some local councils. Unless they find a way to overcome the huge deficit they have to the other parties in The Parliament of The UK, they can’t force any EU referendum.
