Ukrainians elected Petro Poroshenko to be their fifth president in a vote that was dubbed "the second independence referendum," because of voters' determination to cast their ballots despite a Russian-backed war against the nation.

Is Vlad Putin a supporter of this Poroshenko chap?
The Ukrainian voters may end up regretting their votes for Poroshenko given his past and his past role in helping to found the Party of Regions and Solidarity. What relationship Poroshenko may have with Putin’s network of oligarchs remains to be seen. On the one hand Poroshenko has been closly assosicated with Yushchenko, and on the other hand Poroshenko is a post-Soviet oligarch who has already been investigated for alleged corruption as a government officer.
I hope he sees that more important than 3 buzzwords,
‘’peace for Ukraine” is ‘’Independence’’ for UKRaine,
IE, there is no peace without Independence from putler.
And if he continues to add to these measures that MAIDAN
has been praising interim gov for, he’ll do ok....Ed
