The Ukrainian voters may end up regretting their votes for Poroshenko given his past and his past role in helping to found the Party of Regions and Solidarity. What relationship Poroshenko may have with Putin’s network of oligarchs remains to be seen. On the one hand Poroshenko has been closly assosicated with Yushchenko, and on the other hand Poroshenko is a post-Soviet oligarch who has already been investigated for alleged corruption as a government officer.
