GOOGLE: MEMORIAL DAY DOES NOT RATE A TRIBUTE DOODLE ON SEARCH PAGE
Breitbart ^ | 26 May 2014 | by ROBERT WILDE

Posted on 05/26/2014 11:48:55 PM PDT by kingattax

Mother’s Day got a Google doodle, chorographer Martha Graham got a Google doodle honoring her 117th birthday, Audrey Hepburn got one for her 85th birthday, and of course Earth Day on April 22, 2014 got a Google Doodle. Memorial Day did not get the tribute Google doodle on Monday.

Apparently, the day honoring our military, who spilled their blood and gave their lives fighting in American wars, did not rate high enough to qualify for Google’s Hall of Important Days. And this is not the first time Google was negligent on Memorial day. In past years, they have also omitted ascribing a picture to the search engine window.

In 2013, Google confused Memorial day with Veterans day and drew a live military dad on the page, entirely missing the message of what is arguably America’s most important national holiday.

There’s a Google Doodle for Rachel Carson’s 107th birthday, though. Her importance? Inspiring the envirowacko movement through her book “Silent Spring”. Google will get its comeuppance one day.

to heck with google.

try Ixquick if you want a search engine that doesn’t record your IP address or all your search information.

Who cares? I mean, why be honored by the dishonorable. Why be commemorated by the cowards and used as a stage prop or propaganda tool. F$&k them.

Let honorable men and women remember those who gave their lives and served with honor defending us. It’s THEIR loss. They can only worship themselves and spineless feline men who do the fighting by lying , cheating and misdirection.

Let them worship the war heroes like Kerry, Gore and Clinton. Let them stand in awe at the perfumed generals who got down on their knees and earned their stars the old fashion way, by blowing democrats and supporting liberals and their agendas.

Let them raise men so morally fractured that they can only shoot innocent people and blame others for their disgusting lives and pathetic code of behavior.

Dubya’s bio is the seventh hit on an Ixquick search for “miserable failure”. Right after that is Carter’s bio, and then Obama’s.

Many great Americans and those who respect their sacrifice would disagree.

Even if you don’t go to their search page they’re still in your browser via Google Analytics, trolling you and collecting your data. Ghostery will block Google Analytics and other data collection ‘services’.

it's Google, for crying out loud... what they did or did not do is not outlandish... because it is Google... no one is really surprised... being upset with Google for Google behaving just like Google is like people getting upset because liberal indoctrination takes place in government schools...

"can you believe this???"

"well, yes i can... why are you surprised?"

You are making the assumption that Google is run by people who believe in America and our values. It isn’t.

I rarely see the GUI version of the Google search page, being on lynx if it's feasible. I do other search engines as a first choice.
somewhat to my dismay, a few years ago the Reference Building of the NYPL had an exhibit of youngster's proposals for Google doodles. I didn't notice any especially patriotic ones, but it was quite a while ago.

Christmas and Easter didn’t either, so what else is new. National Holidays, all of them, and not a note. Christmas Day is not what it is supposed to be, generically speaking the birth of a great man, just like the other birthdays celebrated.

Unfortunately, I’ve tried Bing, and it doesn’t work for me...so I’m stuck with Google and still looking for a way for them to pay ME to use their search engine.

Of all people to commemorate, Google would choose Rachel Carson!

Her book Silent Spring (Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1962) inspired bans on DDT, the most effective insecticide for controlling deadly pests such as anopheles mosquitoes and tsetse flies. As a result, untold millions have died in Africa and elsewhere from insect-borne diseases such as malaria and encephalitis.

In their book The Disaster Lobby (Chicago: Follett, 1973), a critically acclaimed analysis of radical environmentalism, Melvin J. Grayson and Thomas R. Shepard called Silent Spring "the book that killed."
